[Adware Defender] Block Bad Websites
A simple Garry’s Mod Addon that will block external code from being ran with the HTTP library, because 99% of the time, it’s for malicious intent.
On June 23rd, 3 addons were updated by their creators to run malicious code using HTTP. Most of them were Adware, some of were Backdoors. This gave me motivation to create this addon, to stop code like this from being ran in your game without your knowledge.
Addons like these are not a new topic. They have been around for a while now. Maybe even an addon you have right now, just might be running malicious code in the background without you knowing.
If you get any detections, please post them in the comments or discussions! We wan’t to make sure we are accurate on our detections, and lower down the false positive rate. It would help a lot.
