Ever felt like the faction leaders were kinda bland in default kenshi? Why would the most ruthless and richest slave owner have dirty noble clothes and a throwaway katana? I dont know but now he doesnt! Tengu is my take on what the richest man in the world would be wearing. And tried to keep it vanilla themed.
I modeled, textured, and weight painted several new assets for Tengu himself, although anyone of any gender, or size can also wear the clothes….if you get them somehow.
This mod includes:
-1 new "Tengus Hat"
-1 new "Tengus Robe"
-1 new "Tengus Pants"
-1 new "Tengus Jade Sandals"
-1 new katana "Emperors Rest"
Stats and Obtaining
So unlike my other mods there is no way to craft these items. Yes this is intentional on my part. Tengu’s clothes are unique to Tengu. So it would be weird for some peasent to be able to craft such a beautiful silk robe. If you want the clothes for yourself you will have to ask him. But Tengu is not one to share. So there are two realistic options, 1: kill tengu and take it, or 2: steal it off of him. This applies for his new sword as well.
The stats for the clothes varies:
Tengus robe and pants now offer a great boost in stealth and perception. While his hat, shoes, and glasses are just nice clothing for fancy people.
Tengus sword has now been made unique, its called "Emperors Rest" and is probably the best katana in-game. It suffer from less debuffs than normal katanas and offers a bonus to cut damage and is on-par with cross level weapons. (or should be, i may tweak it a bit depending on feedback).
Tengu is rich so his clothes and weapons should reflect that. He’s also not a dirty peasent, so his silk robes are clean and free from the grime of the world. Its no secret that Tengu has a bit of a belly, but how did he get so big? His sneaky robes of course! Tengu’s silk robes are silent in the night helping him sneak into the kitchen for extra snacks when everyones asleep.
Tengu’s Sword is also master crafted. The rumors say it was made by a master crafter who became a slave and was forced to craft Tengu the most powerful katana. Once it was finished Tengu had the slave fed to skimmers so that no blade could match his, not that he ever actually uses his sword for anything other than cutting bread.
Q. What ref did you use?
A. I used old pictures of the Chinese emperors to get my inspiration.
Q.Why isnt anyone else wearing these?
A. Not everyone is lucky enough to be Tengu.
