Description:

An English transation for the Bori race mod. Made at the request of OttersHoldHands.

Lovingly hand translated by me, who cross-referenced Lucifel’s Japanese translation with the original Korean in order to create an accurate, but localized English translation. Enjoy!

Original mod description (please see Bori mod description for images):

Imperial Guard, remember the ivy.

Paradise no longer exists.
Their home planet, Eden, was destroyed by a race of ant-like aliens long ago. Now, only stories of it ripple throughout the rimworlds of the outer systems.

But they survived!
Their forefathers signed the Refugee Relief and Relocation Act, sending clusters of Bori and Sheepawn from their war-torn planet, to the outer reaches of the galaxy. Now, they will fight against those who destroyed their home, building new communities, new weapons, new defenses, until they can finally rebuild their paradise!

So what does this mod add?

This mod adds the Bori and Sheepawn races. The Bori are genetically engineered humanoids with shepherd genes, making them more territorial and protective. The Sheepawns are genetically engineered humanoids with sheep genes, blessing them with beauty and dexterity.

Sheepawn will periodically produce milk and a type of wool known as "aries". Aries can be used to create "orion", a powerful, lightweight semimetal. Additional processing is required.

Discover their history!

Research their technology by following in the footsteps of their history! Learn about the events that led to the Bori and Sheepawns’ creation to the end of Eden itself.
Based on the advanced research and technology of their home planet, complete each researching step to learn more about their story.
Most of the research requires prerequisite research from vanilla Rimworld. This makes it difficult to solely focus on this research tree, so you will have to branch out to get the full story.

Step by step, upgrade your settlements through advancements such as advanced batteries, walk-in freezers, and forging and machining research exclusive to Bori technology!
Take your time researching and discovering their stories. The history of Eden isn’t going anywhere, and those who can tell its stories are willing to wait.

And as always…

Build your trenches!

Ivy

Ivy, a thorny plant created through genetic modification. Strong and tough, it makes for an effective barrier against intruders. It blocks line of sight, making it great cover to duck behind and shoot from!

Harvest bitter fruit from fully grown ivy!
These fruits can be made into tea to wake up your pawns and boost their mood or refined and manufactured into an incredibly effective combat drug!

Of course, the chemicals from these fruits are addictive, so you may have to continuing using them to avoid withdrawal.

The Days of Marching Dogs

Bori and Sheepawn have access to 15 different weapons and up to 20 outfits will be added!

Sheepawns need protection, so please make sure to equip them well…

Materials and Engineering

Combine aries (Sheepawn wool) with plasteel to create orion on a Cosmos Orion Loom!

Orion is a semimetal that is incredibly lightweight, strong, beautiful, and fire-resistant!

Additionally, clothes made from aries or orion will provide a mood buff to the wearer, which can greatly help in stabilizing settlement moods.

The rim is a dangerous place! Make sure you have a safe place for your pawns to rest. Give your pawns a cozy rope bed for the low price of only five pieces of wood!
It guarantees a relatively high rest rate compared to its cheapness, but it’s not recommended to perform surgeries on them. No wants to have a laparotomy on a creaky rope bed.

Prepare for battle!

The Bori flag and monument give a slight mood buff and other beneficial effects to those in the nearby area! Use this to block enemy raids and prevent them from conquering your settlement! It could even buy you some time needed to prepare your defenses.

Looking for a new paradise…

Bori and Sheepawn communities are nomadic in nature. Many wayward members leave their community in search of their own paradise. Treat them kindly and they might even join your settlement.

Or maybe not. Perhaps you’ll run into a caravan of smuggler, who hide their gold and contraband in the stomachs of sheep. Either way, it can be beneficial to you.

Your story

Although their home has long since been destroyed, their history and ideology remains, spreading through the lands of the rim.

Will they be able to build the paradise of their dreams and protect it from those who wish to destroy their progress?
Who knows… They lost their paradise once, but who’s to say it’ll happen again?

But in the end, they are soldiers and veterans, the products of wars hard fought trying to protect their paradise.

Everything they once loved has been destroyed, but now it’s time to rebuild.

Join their paradise pioneering project! Shelter Bori and Sheepawns, raise crops, build defenses, drive out the enemy, discover the lost history of Eden, and write a new history together that will be remembered for millennia to come!
