Residential buildings type P-44
I present you, the panel houses of the series P-44. Residential buildings of this series and developed on its basis (P-44T, P-44K and others) – the most popular type series of houses in Moscow and Moscow region. Also houses of this series were massively built in Tynda, Nizhnevartovsk, Yaroslavl. Individual specimens and modifications can be found in Alexandrov, Ivanovo, Petrozavodsk, Orel, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa, Nefteyugansk and Krivoy Rog.
The buildings were under construction from 1978 to 2002, and the modern modifications (P-44T, P-44M, P-44TM) are still under construction. The project was developed by the Moscow Research and Design Institute of Typology and Experimental Design (MNIITEP), and was produced at DSK-1.
Unlike most of its contemporaries (for example, series 1605), P-44 did not "evolve" from the typical projects of earlier years, but was a fundamentally new development. The houses of the series favourably differed by the improved layout of apartments, large kitchen, presence of a cargo elevator, a place for a concierge in the hall of the first floor, etc. The most popular were 2-section and 4-section (section P-44-1) 16/17-storey buildings, connected in "corner" section (P-44-4). The first houses of the series were erected on Khoroshevskoye highway in Moscow.
This pact consists of 7 buildings, including various sections, both row block-sections (straight) and corner block-sections (inserts). The buildings can be built adjacent to each other, thus creating a single ensemble.
