Polyamory Elaborated

Polyamory Elaborated introduces two new tenets: Androamory and Gynaikoamory.
They are in every respect similar to Polyamory, except that they solely refer to men respectively women and therefore just depends on the acceptance of male respectively female adultery.

Ever wondered what use of being a male, whose extramarital actions will indeed be accepted by your faith, but still get ill reputation for the natural consequences arising out of these actions? And even worse, your liege is entitled to imprison you for fornication! All this, because your faith won’t accept female adultery and therefore rejects the concept of polyamory?

HERE is the solution for your Problem: Androamory!
Which is Polyamory just for men.

AND for the ladies there is: Gynaikoamory!
(Sorry for that monstrous word, it’s caused by the pseudo-scientific language use by Paradox)

The two new tenets: Androamory and Gynaikoamory are in every respect similar to Polyamory, except that they solely refer to men respectively women and therefore just depend on the acceptance of male respectively female adultery.

You can apply them in the usual way by creating a new faith. The piety costs for implementing Androamory and Gynaikoamory will be the same as implementing Polyamory. Switching from Androamory to Gynaikoamory will be twice the costs than switching from Androamory or Gynaikoamory to Polyamory.

NOTE: Be aware, choosing Androamory or Gynaikoamory might cause unexpected results. They not only prevent just men or women from getting the Adultery trait. In case of Androamory for example, a woman giving birth to a child from a married man, will still get the Fornicator trait, whereas the genitor won’t. Seems unfair, but such is life (and exactly what the mod was made for)!

This mod contains an English and a German localization. For all other standard languages, I added a localization using the English language.

Although this mod is play tested twice, I just can guarantee that it won’t crash the game and won’t cause entries in the error.log.
But there are a lot of interactions, scripted effects, scripted triggers and events, querying the no_unfaithfulness_penalty_active-parameter set by Polyamory, which had to be modified for Androamory and Gynaikoamory. At the occurrence of the most common of them, the mod worked as intended. But some rare, as the Send a Romantic Poem-interaction for example, didn’t occur by chance and I couldn’t trigger them by cheat. Therefore, I can’t say everything is proofed, although, according to the code I implemented it ought to work.

So if there is any odd occurrence you didn’t expect, please leave a comment. I’ll try to find out the reason.

I made a similar mode, Amorous Traditions, which introduces the cultural traditions Amorous Males and Amorous Females instead of the tenets Androamory and Gynaikoamory.

For this mod it has been necessary to write an own version of the file 00_core_tenets.txt (named xxx_polyamory_elaborated_core_tenets.txt), which had to contain every tenet in use, otherwise they won’t be available in the creating faith window. So, every mod, that does the same, will be incompatible with this mod. At least you can’t apply the new tenets by the creating faith window; you still can add them by command console.
And because of the modifying of a lot of interactions, scripted effects, scripted triggers and events, any modification of these involved functions by another mod might cause problems too.

Therefore Polyamory Elaborated is not compatible with my Amorous Traditions mod. It changes exactly the same interactions, scripted effects, scripted triggers and events.

For all those using my More Tenet Slots + Customizable Ethics mod or my More Tenet Slots mod, there is an actual patch named Poly. Elab. + MTS/MTS-CE – Patch. The other patch I made, named Polyamory Elaborated + MRTS Patch is still available, but won‘t be maintained any more.

Because of the naming of that patch’s yyy_polyamory_elaborated_core_tenets.txt file, the loading order doesn’t really matter, for this file overwrites all core_tenets.txt used by the vanilla game, this mod, my More Tenet Slots + Customizable Ethics mod or my More Tenet Slots mod. Although I recommend placing the patch right below my More Tenet Slots + Customizable Ethics mod or my More Tenet Slots mod quite at the end of the loading order.

For players using the Fornication/Adultery Doctrine Split mod by Dallan, I’ve made a patch named Forn./Adult. Split + Poly. Elab. – Patch.

This mod is only compatible with ironman, but not with achievements.
