I’ve always loved bats, so whenever I play the factions that had them I’m always sad to see them quickly phased out of armies once you got to mid/late game because they just weren’t viable at that point. So, I made this! This includes two units; Dire Bats which are just better, moderately larger and red-eyed Fell Bats basically, and Nosferatus which are a Regiment of Renown version with a unique regeneration ability. I actually planned to add more, but unfortunately it didn’t work out the way I wanted it to.



Dire Bats
These large and aggressive bats tear flesh and rend bone with a ravenous fury, often leaving behind a trail of mutilated remains.

Factions:

  • Vampire Counts
  • Vampire Coast
  • Followers of Nagash
  • Wargrove of Woe

Required Buildings:

  • Abyssal Wood (Vampire Counts)
  • Mausoleum (Vampire Counts)
  • Roosting Trees (Vampire Coast)
  • Ancient Burial Mound (Followers of Nagash)

Role:

  • Flying Monster
  • Melee

Passives:

  • Frenzy

Abilities:

  • None

Additional Notes:

  • Benefits from all relevant Bat-related buffs granted by lords and technologies
  • Integrated in the Raise Dead and Wild Beast pools
  • Can potentially spawn in relevant factions’ rebellion armies
  • Implemented for Custom Battles
  • Includes 2D portholes


Nosferatus (Dire Bats)
These pale-coloured bats are the closest of its species that relate to vampires. They addictively seek the succulent blood of the living and will leave their prey a cold, bloodless husk once their feasting has ended.

Factions:

  • Vampire Counts
  • Followers of Nagash

Lord Level Required:

  • 14

Role:

  • Flying Monster
  • Melee

Passives:

  • Frenzy

Abilities:

  • Blood Feast – A regeneration ability that restores 8 hit points per second so long as they are actively engaged in melee combat.

Additional Notes

  • Benefits from all relevant Bat-related buffs granted by lords and technologies
  • Implemented for Custom Battles
  • Includes 2D portholes
