Gameplay Description

Roekoko is a medium-light spacie archetype with a Forsburn clone inspired gimmick. Her clone is designed to deceive opponents and to land command grabs that allow for powerful follow ups from the real Roekoko. This character is heavily inspired by the Spacies, Chef by Angish, and Hikaru by Lukaru.

Strengths

– Quick spacie normals that are straight fordward.
– Clone gimmick is versatile. It can be used for deception, movement, or grabbing opponents to land finishers or rack up damage.
– Clone can be remote controlled for safe approaches on defensive players.

Weaknesses

– Normals do not feature long range or disjoint.
– No direct projectiles to zone or space.
– Clone is easy to destroy by any active hitbox. Deception is usually the key to landing it as direct approaches usually get stopped.
– Recovery is empowered by having her clone not spawned. Without the clone available, she can struggle to recover.
– Recovery is versatile but unsafe.

Gimmick / Specials

Gimmick description: Roekoko’s clone is a remote controlled take on Forsburn’s clone. It has NO AI component.

The clone can be spawned using Nspecial / Fspecial / Uspecial. Only one clone can be active at a time. It must not be out or be a wisp.

Nspecial

Clone not spawned: This is the quickest way to spawn the clone. The clone will spawn in front of Roekoko. In addition, this move features a shine hitbox similar to Zetterburn’s shine. It can be jump canceled as well.

Clone spawned, tapping the special button: Tapping the button will cause the clone to do a small combust and return to Roekoko as a wisp.

Clone spawned, holding the special button: Will allow Roekoko to remote control the clone. The clone can move similar to a player, but it has much less options.

Clone can
– Dash
– Jump / Double Jump
– Wavedash on the ground on parry input
– Airdash directionally instead of airdodge on Parry input.
– Platdrop
– Use a directional grab on attack input. The clone can grab sideways, up, and down (air only)

Clone cannot
– Walk
– Wall jump
– Parry
– Use normals

Fspecial / Uspecial

If the clone is not spawned: These moves will spawn the clone and then proceed to throw it or have the clone throw the player depending on if the special button is held or not.

If the clone is spawned and nearby: This will do the same as above but will skip the clone spawning portion of the move. Note: If the player is grounded while being thrown by Uspecial, Roekoko will have an extra double jump for that airtime.

If the clone is spawned by not nearby:

– Fspecial cloneless: A small forward kick with a lot of wind up. Use this to recover horizontally. Hitbox on this is not very strong and the move does not have a lot of application outside of emergency recovery

– Uspecial cloneless:: This is an emergency upward recovery move that Roekoko will need to use if she has no other resources left. It has no hitboxes and leaves her in pratfall.

Dspecial

– This is a short range command grab where she holds them still for a small period of time before releasing them.
– The special part of this move is that the clone will also do the command grab at the same time.
– You can grab opponents with the clone and then follow up with any move you want.

– Grabbing the opponent with the Player Roekoko when your clone is out will cause the clone to travel to you and deliver a strong kick at the end of it.

– If the opponent is being grabbed by the clone and you also grab the same opponent with the real Roekoko, she will use a special tag team throw with the clone. Use this to rack up damage as it’s her single most damaging option. This special tag team grab will not kill and should not be used at higher percents.

Short Background / Lore

Roekoko is a kitsune / fox that once lived as a carefree illustraitior and freelancer on the outskirts of the Neo Fire Capital. She lived mostly carefree, until she met Daora on her many trips into the city. Mesmerized by how smart, elegant, and strong Daora was, Roekoko requested to be her student so that she too could become stronger. Although uncertain, Daora saw great potential in this young fox, but knew that the path ahead was a dark one, as Daora plotted her revenge on the Neo Fire Capital for destroying her village.

As Daora and Roekoko descend into the city, the streets are a blaze in riots and firefights. Roekoko may not be prepared for what lies ahead…
