Description:

Check my similar mod for RA.

Made on the basis of NCO mod by Boon: Feng’s Bussy
Some features were ported from CFEPatch Redux mod by Chthon
A few tiles graphics were taken from Nyergud’s "Graphical Fixes" mod.

Balanced and tested with campaigns and custom missions in mind, but works pretty good for Skirmish too.

Changing settings / unit stats

Most features and stats for units/structures can be tweaked in the INI file
…Steam Folder…steamappsworkshopcontent12132102787352410ZeroByte’s New Features ModDataRULES-DEFAULT.INI

Warning! Every time this mod gets updated, this INI file is overwritten.
Unfortunately there’s no way to avoid this as far as I know. If you change some settings and want to keep them, make a backup copy of the changed INI file.

Custom mod hotkeys

To use many features properly you need to have mod hotkeys set up, you can find them in key bindings section.
My suggestion is to use Alt+Q, Alt+W, Alt+E and Alt+R. Pressing Shift will give you 8 new hotkeys in total and all of them are used for different purposes.

Common features

– A* pathfinding, commandos improvements, more convenient walls, pixel-perfect zoom and other stuff from other popular mods (no A-move yet though).
– Bounty system, enable this setting in the INI file to earn some money for every kill!
– Some cheats were added for testing and fun, all disabled by default (see INI file), like revealing entire map, granting veterancy to selected units, etc.

Veterancy

– 1st level gives +25% damage, +20% health and +1 vision range
– 2nd level gives +25% damage, +20% health and +20% move speed
– 3rd level gives +20% health and unique bonus for every unit (info can be found in discussions)
Defensive structures get reduced bonuses.
Destroyed veteran vehicles often spawn a technician that retains the veterancy. You can put him into another vehicle of the same type to apply this veterancy rank to the vehicle.

Overall balance changes

– Superweapons like Ion Cannon are buffed a bit so they feel stronger/more important
– Buildings can be placed farther from each other (distance can be set in the INI file)
– Oil derricks and churches can be captured for permanent low-rate income
– Infantry has very slow health regeneration by default
– Hospitals can be built to increase this regen rate and make infantry less vulnerable to Tiberium
– Having 2+ Repar Bays grants slow health regeneration to some tanks

Unit balance changes

– In general units shoot 2 cells farther and see 2-3 cells father
– Overall slight rebalance of everything so every unit is useful
– Humvee and Buggy have 1 transport slot for infantry which will shoot from inside
– Minigunners can be garrisoned in some civilian buildings
– Units like Chem Warriors, Apache Helicopters and SSM Launchers can be built
– Directional armor, 25% thicker front armor for Light / Medium / Mammoth tanks
– Air transport can also carry vehicles (one at a time)
– Engineers can fix own buildings

Major features

– Custom upgrades (disabled by default, can be enabled in INI file)
– Unique upgrades, 2 for every unit, you can choose only one, to see them select a unit and press Alt+Shift+E
– Mutators (see description in the INI file)
– Unique faction mechanics (see description in the INI file)
– Subfactions, 3 per side (see description in the INI file)
– Campaign progress, only for 2 main campaigns, see details in the INI file (disabled by default)

New units

– Infiltrator, can temporarily cloak (Alt+Q) and steal enemy units plans/kits so you could produce them
– Medic (requires Hospital, behaves like RA medic)
– Mechanic (requires Repair Bay, behaves like RA mechanic)
– EMP Tank (disables enemy ground vehicles for 5-10s, minugunners / techinicans can capture disabled vehicles)
– Grenade Launcher, a heavy armor grenade throwing vehicle
– Rig (enables building basic static defensive structures in its build radius)
– NOD can train Visceroids (requires Bio-Lab, they can’t attack until set to guard mode by pressing "G", after which they become hostile to everyone)
– NOD Stealth Soldier from Renegade (cloaked minigunner with increased damage, $500 and L-Shift to convert one minigunner)
– Pillbox that can be garrisoned by minigunners

Updated hard difficulty

– on Hard AI units don’t have original stats bonuses
– instead AI has 50% cost/time discount on units and AI units gain veterancy much faster
– on Hard AI barracks/factories start producing unit with 1/2 vet-ranks after 15/30 mins
– initial AI forces are randomly given veterancy ranks when mission starts.

New commands for selected units

– Alt+Q for unit spefic actions, e.g. for infantry it means "lie down" or "get up".
– Alt+W to attack every visible enemy unit (aka Hunt)
– Alt+E to retreat back to your base
—- when only one unit is selected —-
– Alt+Shift+Q to assign officer rank to an elite unit (provides veterancy to units around)
– Alt+Shift+W to see unit status
– Alt+Shift+E to show/hide unique unit upgrades in the sidebar

Global unit behavior settings

– You can set global unit behavior settings using Alt+R and Alt+Shift+R hotkeys
– Among them "auto-attack buildings", "don’t attack harvesters", "retreat when low on HP", etc.
– Also you can use Alt+Q when a specific building select to change its mod (works only for some buildings)

Better AI

– Smarter targeting for AI (units choose targets they’re effective against)
– Smarter structure rebuilding by AI
– AI rebuilds air units and knows how to attack walls
– AI reacts on air attack

Miscellaneous

– Pressing ALT stops fire for selected units
– Helicopters don’t land when idle (use L-Shift to land them manually)
– Roads give speed bonuses (depends on unit type)
– Visceroids appear on maps (and they’re dangerous!)

– A lot of other things, it’s simply impossible to list everything here…
