Ever wanted your hired mercenaries to look the part of sell swords trying to make a quick buck on a bad job. Well now they can with merc armor bundle!
This took a little longer than I had expected but I am happy with the result. Mercenary Armor bundle expands on the armor that is in-game. Kind of like my clothing mods but this time for armor. Unlike my other bundles that were just crafting stand alones this mod goes ahead and expands on the mercenaries in-game by giving them the new armor to wear.
This mod includes several new custom made armor pieces and backpacks. They include:
4 New helmet types – Faceplate, Round Zukin, Kabuto Helm, and Kabuto Helm with Faceplate
7 New Armor Types – Left/right/double sleeved Kote and Mercenary Dō/left/right/and doublesleeved versions
3 New Armor Pants – Heavy, Medium, and Light mercenary leg plates
1 New Boot Armor – Mercenary Suneate
6 New Backpacks – Mercenary ropes, Mercenary Ropes Crossed, and Mercenary Captain Flags
All of the armor types are colorable, Mercs color is black.
All items can be researched under Merc Armor from Cat’s Clothing category. All of the armor can be crafted at the following:
Backpacks – Clothing Bench
Faceplate and Round Zukin – Armour Chain bench
Other Armor – Armour Plate Bench
The stats for the armor vary but the general rule is this. Faceplate and Zukin offer less protection than the full Kabuto. The Kote arm sleeves are considered light armor and the Dō is medium. The leg plates vary on light medium or heavy and the shoes only offer medium.
I tried to keep it lore friendly by basing the armor after concept art i found of Japanese mercenary bandits. I thought it looked like it would fit into kenshi well as it was dirty and clearly scrapped together. I tried to mimic that with this mod ny making the armor used and battle worn,
