High Elf Units for High Elfs 7.0
Welcome back, commanders! If you used the WH2 version of this mod, then you know what the deal is. For everyone else, read on:
If you confederate Avelorn, you gain access to Dryads, Treekin, and Treemen. You must own The Queen and The Crone DLC.
If you confederate Nagarythe, you gain access to Shadow-walkers. You must own the Aleaf Anar FLC.
If you confederate Yvresse, you gain access to the mistwalker units. You must own The Warden and The Paunch DLC.
If you confederate Eataine and the AI hadn’t recruited Alastar for whatever reason, he’ll be available for recruitment. Why would you want to confederate Tyrion?
If you confederate Knights of Caledor, you gain access to Imrik’s dragons. You must own the Imrik FLC.
Recruitment opens up 1 turn after confederating, assuming the former faction leader is alive. If they’re convalescing, you’ll need to wait until they’re "ready for duty". The new units will be in the RoR panel (elite recruitment options) regardless of what buildings are available in each province. Because these units are added to the RoR pool at level 0, recruitment bonuses will not apply to them.
Without this mod, you only have access to these units if the confederating faction happened to have recruited them into their armies… but factions don’t want to confederate while they have armies, so :shruggy:
This is partially save-game compatible: you can activate the mod anytime, but do not de-activate this mod after confederating Yvresse unless you’re starting a new campaign!
It’s mostly a script mod, so it should be compatible with everything, however if you ask "Is it compatible with X?" the answer is "I have not tested it with X, therefore I do not know." Also I will probably mute you.
If you’re using SFO, what you pick for unit caps (Capacity) matters: This mod doesn’t work properly with "Factionwide Caps" or "Factionwide and Army Caps", however it works fine with "No Caps" or "Army Caps".
If you’re using Team OvN’s OvN Lost Factions: Citadel of Dusk mod, then Althran Stormrider’s RoR units will be available when you confederate Citadel of Dusk.
Shadow-walkers – 4 start, 9 max, 20% replenishment chance
Dryads – 4 start, 10 max, 20%
Treekin – 2 start, 6 max, 15%
Treemen – 1 start, 2 max, 10%
Athel Tamarha Faithbearers – 8 start, 8 max capped, 20%
Spire Guard of Tor Yvresse – 6 start, 6 max capped, 15%
Sentinels of Astaril – 6 start, 6 max capped, 15%
The Skyhawks – 6 start, 6 max capped, 15%
Knights of Tor Gaval – 4 start, 4 max capped, 10%
Imrik’s Dragons – Just 1 of each, ya greedy bastids.
Note that I cannot get rid of the unit caps on mistwalkers because it’s hardcoded like that in the database.
Also I’m not going to remove unit caps on Imrik’s dragons. If you insist otherwise, I’ll tell you to go hang out with Tyrion.
Thank you to everyone for your patience, and thank you to everyone who supported this mod in WH2!
Huge thank you to Mixu who figured out everything that changed with merc pools in WH3 2.0.
Thank you to The Willy Way for spotting that all confederated units were being treated like actual RoR and starting with 9 chevrons. (That should only happen for Imrik’s dragons.)
Thank you to Ice Tea Manis for testing SFO compatibility.
If you don’t get your new units 1 turn after confederating, make sure the newly-confederated lord isn’t wounded. You may need to wait until they finish convalescing.
