Laser Point Defense
Adds the Laser Point Defense weapon which is faster, longer range, and very importantly has no shot spread – very nearly every shot hits its target. Balanced with lower per shot damage.
Due to very high accuracy, laser PD systems excel at shooting down HE Missiles and Medium Cannon rounds – taking out 40-50% more than standard PD turrets. However, they don’t have quite enough punch to shoot down larger cannon rounds – performing 20-30% worse than standard PD systems in that regard. A blended distribution of standard and Laser PD systems represents a formidable defensive emplacement.
Laser Point Defense turrets are also integrated into Career and have a corresponding unlock blueprint.
**Mod is balanced and tested against standard Cosmoteer parts to offer new design choices for broader gameplay.**
