Features:

  • Challenge – New repeatable activity in your hamlet: Butcher’s Circus battles against AI
  • Heroes – All 16 base game heroes available in "Gladiator" variant – they use skills ported from multiplayer Circus
  • Rewards – All 103 Ringmaster trinkets can be obtained as rewards for your Gladiators to use
  • Currency – Prestige can be earned as new currency and spent on recruiting gladiators or upgrading their equipment
  • Immersion – prefect addition to your mostly unmodded game, as nothing in this mod is outside of DD lore/universe
  • Easy access – you can start fighting on the ring the moment OG circus-unlocking event appears
  • Details – a lot of tiny, immersive details like custom dungeon name, audio, torch, quirks or events with rank icons!

I tried my best to make this mod feel like something that could have been part of official DLC, I hope you’ll have fun!

Details:

  • Do not worry about losing your heroes! They will be back after 1 week
  • Only Gladiators can use Ringmaster trinkets (and nothing else) – respect the drip
  • ALL DLC enabled are required
  • This mod works for any ongoing campaign that already has Circus DLC enabled
  • You can not retreat from the ring
  • After you complete introductory battle, you will unlock repeatable ones
  • Your opponents have 4 hand-picked skills and use ringmaster trinkets
  • No bonus damage vs. human traits or abilities work on your opponents
  • Light level in the arena is always at 100%
  • You cannot take any provisions to the arena, you have to rely on your hero abilities
  • Trinkets lost in the arena can be reacquired through Crow quest
  • Only one of each trinket can exist in your campaign
  • Arena victories do not reward experience to combatants
  • Butcher’s Circus battles are not counted in quest generation

    FAQ:
    – No, you won’t get multiplayer achievements through this mod
    – Before reporting issues, please make sure it is not mod conflict, move my mod to the top of your modlist and if your issues persist, make save backup and turn off all your mods one by one and see if this helps.
    – I am not able to make compatibility patches, however I’ll be happy to answer all your questions if you decide to make one of your own
    – Gladiators won’t appear in stage coach, they can only be recruited through event after you win in the ring. Also, there is no way to 100% guarantee only Gladiators appear as recruits (only ~50%)
    – "Dedicated Gladiator" quirk Gladiators come with cannot be removed in any way, it’s there to balance out OP trinkets if you send them to normal dungeon
    – Circus-related Quirks and Diseases won’t be overriden by random ones – you can only remove them through Sanitarium
    – Not every Gladiator skill is exact copy of Multiplayer version, simply because things like +deathblow or stress dealt do’t have any use in singlaplayer – in such cases effects are not changed
    – Gladiator can be recruited only through event that appears after winning apprentice+ fights. Due to how DD modding works, they will have ~50% chance to appear in place of base game heroes
    – Gladiator Antiquarian doesn’t have her loot bonuses – she is already strong with her aoe hot/dot
