Amalgamation: Savior Specialization
This mod adds a brand new primary Amalgamation squad support specialization, capable of buffing and protecting the squad from afar, though often at the cost of their own health.
The Savior is a wildly different implementation to most blood-magic-using classes, focused more on managing a refilling health pool with which to shield allies or create favorable positions, and less on taking risky moves.
Damage output is generally limited, with access to the Vektor Rifle and Boltcaster (if in its own category) but no innate perks to back them up. This is a support spec through and through, relying on secondary and tertiary specializations for most of its offensive capabilities.
With solid HP growths, the aforementioned passive regen and a few spicy buffs for expending health (see below), the Savior is built to protect. Just be sure not to overplay your hand.
When spending health on blood magics, Circulation regenerates 1 HP every turn for up to three turns, while Clotting instead sets up a 2-turn 2-point ablative shield. These abilities aren’t explained too well in-game, but will often be worthwhile to keep up momentum.
Note that while Circulation and Renewal (the main regeneration perks) are quite common, they are technically not guaranteed! You may want to bring in a medic if you don’t roll a healing spec alongside.
Balance should be around baseline, although the spec’s high HP growths will probably make for pretty powerful Tanks/Bruisers! The effect of psi growths on healing/buffing are still a bit of an unknown.
