[WOTC] Doctor Mandarbs Map-Pack – Fixed Network Towers
This mod is a re-published version of Doctor Mandarb’s Map Pack for XCOM2 WOTC incorporating various quality-of-life updates.
All credit for the development of the (considerable amount of) original content goes to Doctor Mandarb and additionally, many thanks to him for his permission to release this update.
The original mod contains the following components:
- PCP – City Center: 223
- PCP – Slums: 172
- PCP – Small Town: 8
- Parcel – City Center: 6
- Parcel – Small Town: 4
This mod contains updated versions of several of the original Parcels & PCPs from his map pack specifically to address the following issues:
- Advent Network Towers spawning in mid-air on some maps (Fairly Common)
- XCOM Spawns in range of Advent Network Tower (Fairly Rare)
- XCOM Spawns in range of Advent Turret (Very Rare)
Please note that this mod is a hard-fork of the original so please do not use the two together. Doctor Mandarb has now retired from XCOM 2 modding, so please unsubscribe from the original mod if you wish to use this one instead.
The mod also incorporates a small fix to a file which was found to cause a crash in the original mod & led to the mod author deactivating some good-quality parcels in order to prevent the issue from occurring (Vehicle dealership city-centre). This mod reinstates those parcels & allows them to be used without causing crashes.
If you are using the Missing Packages Fix – Parcels & Maps mod, please ensure that you implement this fix before installing my version.
Apparently, inconsistencies between the two files can cause a crash.
As of 20th May 2023, the Missing Packages Fix has been updated so the procedure above is no longer required.
It should be generally safe to swap the original Map Pack for this version mid-campaign without any issue.
The corresponding Tactical Legacy Expansion maps are not affected by these issues & can be used normally.
Finally, significant development credit must be given to RustyDios for identifying the original issues, manually modifying at least half of the PCPs himself & giving me the necessary direction to complete this mod and also thanks to nelVlesis for designing the stamp for the mod preview page 🙂
