Description:

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LESS BLUR LESS BLUR MOD – THIS MOD HAS THOSE FIXES ALREADY – DO NOT USE BOTH

中国玩家请点这里 https://imgur.com/H0BTjqa 使用这些图形设置

IN ORDER TO PLAY THIS MOD AS INTENDED, YOU NEED TO ENABLE THOSE SETTINGS IN THE GAME GRAPHICS OPTIONS MENU:

Every computer has a different combination of monitor and system settings: you need to move this slider until you reach the sweet point. I used 100 % for example, but with my new PC I needed to use 130% to have the same results because it felt too dark.
Optimal values are between 100 and 150%, chose yours.

Lighting on "High" enables the Screen Space Global Illumination. It works like a cheap ray tracing and it helps giving some light to the areas that aren’t directly illuminated.
Recomended, unless you want the game to look darker and flatter (which some may prefere).

Vfx to "Ultra" enables all the visual effects such as rain, snow, thunders, smoke, etc.
Recomended, unless you hate those effects and want the screen to be clean at all stages.
You can also use "High" for less intrusive effects such as rain, embers etc. that will still be there but less pronounced.

Fog to "High" enables the height volumetric fog and gives more depth to the atmosphere along with some additional shadows.
Only disable if you hate fog or if you struggle for perfomances, but you will lose some depth, especially in harsh weather conditions.

Screen Space Ambient Occlusion adds an extra layer of shadowing to any object.
This is mandatory and it totally changes the look of the game. If you disable it, the game will look flat and the mod will be almost useless.

Note: Don’t use "less bloom less shine" or other lighting mods, they are not compatible.

INTRODUCTION

TW: Warhammer 3 has a beautiful world, varied and detailed environments but they are limited by some unusual choices, like some weird or washed out colours, the lack of weather variety and some issues such as excessive brightness or complete darkness.

This mod is a complete overhaul of the environment lighting and weather of all maps in the game, it tunes the colors to be natural and nice, it adds some environmental effects and also it provides a number of graphics fixes.

– Reworked the lighting of more than 500 maps, more realistic and natural colors for a solid and varied atmosphere throughout the whole world.

-Most maps have random weather and lighting made to be region-accurate

For example: No snow in desert, jungle or wasteland, dark and moody lighting in vampire region and corruption, dark and polluted weather around volcanic areas, etc.

Most maps can load daytime, night, sunset, rain, etc. (Exception: Quest battles and Multiplayer maps have no variations).

– The fog in all maps has been reworked to be aligned with the current weather conditions.

– The Sun and the Moon have been reintroduced for most maps, enabling their textures.

– The Sun and the Moon have custom position in the sky to better fit with each map preset.

– Enabled or improved several effects such as heavy rain, heavy snow, thunders, wet ground, etc.

-Replaced Pink skyes and other monos corruption skyboxes with a dark stormy sky since all the undivided factions (CDwarfs, Norsca, Beastmen etc) also use SSlanesh and Khorne skyboxes and it looks just wrong.
Playing Dawi Zharr, Archaeon, Wulfrik or Taurox and having so often the SSlanesh Pink sky is not gonna happen anymore.

Mantained the monogods colored skies only for chaos wastelands since they would fit in those regions.

-Battles in Vampire corruption will be either at night or in a dark foggy day.

-Battles in Skaven corruption will be dark but less "total green" compared to vanilla.

-The excessive bloom and shine on game Units has been vastly reduced.

-The excessive brightness on some maps has been adjusted, including snowy ones. No more "blinding snow-effect" or stadium illuminated nights.

-The landscape blur has been highly reduced. This led many people believe they had Depth of Field enabled even when turned off when in reality it was a blur value in the weather settings. Now the horizon will be more clean and less blurry.

-Adjusted the sunmoon position in most maps to avoid the complete darkness due to the mountains shadows. No more completely shadowed maps.

-Slighty adjusted the brightness of the grass in some regions to better match with the terrain.

LIMITATIONS AND ISSUES

-Some maps are hard-coded to have one weather only and little to no variations.

Example are Quest battles, Wastelands and other few regions.

-The "Pits of Zardok" map and one of the Wood Elves quest battles (the one with globe) look bad due to many factors I cannot control.

-When launching battles during Custom Battles menu, you need to return to menu and start again to see weather changes. If you just play "rematch" during the battle, it doesn change.

-I haven’t tuned properly Chaos Realms maps since they are not in lE.

-I had no idea if corruption changes the quest battles maps so I didn’t tune the corruption for quest battle maps to avoid doing a lot of work in vain.
If someone can confirm or deny if corruption affects quest battle maps during the campaign, let me know.

Compatibilies

This mod for obvious reasons is not compatible with others environment lighting mods because they edit the same "weather" file.

It is NOT compatible with my "Less Bloom Less Shine" mod: unsubscribe that one.

It works fine with "Guns, smoke and spectacle", keep in mind that using also "Transparency Fix" can make some maps darker than intented.

In general to avoid issues, put this on the top of the list.

FEEDBACK

The mod is in "beta" stage, which means it is techincally finished but it lacks polish and refinements.

In the mod page you will find 2 threads, one for issues reports, another for feedback and suggestions.
