Description:

Adds an AI Core building that operates the building in front of it like a crew. It consumes a small amount of power and it also requires some command points. Useful if you don’t have the money to hire enough crews to man everything.

Known Issues

If a ship has no crews, one part destroyed and the whole ship is considered a junk. There is nothing I can do with it. Have at least one crew to avoid this behavior. If I had access to c# modding…

Mod Compatibility

The AI is so dumb that it only comes with the capacity to operate vanilla ship parts. I have to teach it about the bountiness of the world and eventually it learned how to operate ship parts from the following mods (as of Jan 18th 2023):

Galactic Allegiance
Jani’s Shipyard
Stormforge – Additional Parts
Corvettes and Components
Fighters and Components
Fighter Seat
Dogfighter Toolkit
More Sensors
Better Sensor Arrays
SkillT’s Mining Overhaul
Big Mining Laser
Shutori’s Factory
Weapon Turrets
Flak Turret Standalone
Torpedo Tubes
Modular Missiles
Advanced Missile Launchers
Flamethrower
UV Laser
Small Hyperium Blaster
Autocannon
Modular Laser Beam
[DIGI] Prototype Drones

To make the AI even more versatile, you are welcome to make compatibility patches for it. It’s very easy to do. Head to the mod file directory and you will see a document about how to make a compatibility patch.

@RustyDios for the splendid sprites.

FAQ

Q: Despite being listed as supported, the ______ from ______ mod cannot be operated by the AI Core.
A: The part might be added to the mod later than the last time I maintained the compatibility. Alternatively, it might be lacking the tag "is_crewed", or it does not inherit ReceiveableBuffs from base part. You can leave a comment which part is it and which mod is it coming from.

Q: Can you please make a compatibility patch for ______?
A: Due to the current status of Cosmoteer modding, compatibility patch making can be a heavy, repetitive work depending on the number of mods you are going to support. I already made built-in support for so many mods for you. You are welcome to make even more for the community.

Q: I am the author of ______ mod and despite being listed as compatible, my local copy of the mod isn’t compatible with your mod.
A: Due to the current status of Cosmoteer modding, this issue cannot be resolved in my end. You either subscribe your own workshop item and enable it for your plays instead, or apply the patches to your local copy of the mod. The latter would crash the game for users not using AI Core mod; to avoid this, add the following actions to your mod.rules.

{ Action = Overrides OverrideIn = "<buffs/buffs.rules>/AephiexAITerminal" CreateIfNotExisting = true Overrides { } }
