Savage Hunters: The Tribe of the Wolf
The Tribe of the Wolf has surfaced in the frigid lands north of the Old World, with a few minor changes:
- The missions to unlock Hidolfr and Rana now require you to travel to different regions
- The Tribe of the Wolf starts at war with the Archaon (this was determined by TOW’s initial diplomacy settings).
- Be careful, you have 2 Dark Fortress locations which you cannot lose to a WoC faction: Naglheim, and the Monolith of Gutrot.
On a cold and perilous Rúnanótt (or “Geheimnisnacht,” as the southerners call it), a dying thrall fled into the tundra to give birth. Her wails were loud and lonely, but her efforts bore fruit — her babe’s first breath was full of ice, and Rafford was welcomed into the world by the distant howling of wolves. How the boy survived is a matter of speculation, as are his origins. Some say his father was a thrall, others a chieftain. Many, however, claim he is the offspring of Olric himself, and that the Winter Wolf carried him to safety that fateful night. Regardless, it is true that the blood of a wolf runs through Rafford’s veins. A Skin Wolf since birth, Rafford has mastered his feral and savage appetites, channeling the beast’s bloodlust against his foes. His ferocity and prowess have become a local legend, drawing other skin wolves and werekin to his banner. For now, the Tribe of the Wolf rules the Naglfari Plain, hunting across its mountains and tundra. Yet greater prey lives beyond the Tribe’s lands – perhaps it is time to begin the Hunt?
Rafford Olricsson, “The Wolf,” is a new legendary lord for Norsca. A mighty Skin Wolf, he can change back and forth between his human and beast forms in the heat of battle. He leads the Tribe of the Wolf in the Immortal Empires campaign.
This mod introduces a new playable faction for Norsca: The Tribe of the Wolf.
While not canon (as the Tribe of the Wolf is an original creation), this faction is based on existing Skin Wolf and Norscan lore, with a nod towards the various gods and cultural beliefs of the Norscan tribes.
- Upkeep: -20% for Skin Wolves, Norscan Ice Wolves, and Warhounds (all armies)
- Melee attack: +5 for Skin Wolves, Norscan Ice Wolves, and Warhounds (all armies)
- +12% Leadership for Skin Wolves (lord’s army)
- +10% Weapon Strength for Skin Wolves, Norscan Ice Wolves, and Warhounds (lord’s army)
- Vanguard Deployment for Norscan Ice Wolves (lord’s army)
- Arngrim Frostaxe, a legendary Skin Wolf berserker and sworn blood-brother to Rafford.
- Hidolfr One-Eye, a wandering Vitki who wields the powers of ice, snow, and beast.
- Rána of the Wood, the chieftess of the Tribe and a huntress who rides upon a giant ice wolf.
- Three new, limited-recruitment infantry units, including one Regiment of Renown, unique to the Tribe of the Wolf.
Hunting Journeys
Rafford and the Packlords have access to the “Hunting Journeys” mechanic, a spin-off of the Path to Glory system. Venture out across the world and bring down certain foes, and your lords will unlock powerful buffs for themselves and their armies.
Hunting Camps
Rafford and the Packlords have attached hordes with a custom building set, allowing them access to limited unit recruitment, buffs for wolven units, and campaign movement and ambush improvements!
