Description:

Do you want a dragon mount? You will have to tame it first!

Now in v3.2.1! (see full patch notes)

What? You are supposed to kill the Ender Dragon at the end of the game? What if I don’t want to kill it though? What if I want to tame it and use it as a mount? Or just watch it live in its natural environment? Oh well, I guess Teardown doesn’t need to have the same ending, right? Unless you really want to 😉

Huge thanks to TeardownDestructionClips for the Ender Dragon model, and for the demo video ^^
Also thanks to WELZZY for the extra Dragon models: Skeletal Dragon, Zombie Dragon, Christmas Dragon and Ghost Dragon 😉

You need to enable the mod to get your first Dragon to spawn.
You need to tame it to unlock the Dragons in the Spawn menu.
Hold some food in your hand to attract the Dragon.
To tame a Dragon, ride it, then press the key to go in the opposite direction of where it is trying to fly. Do that 5 times in a row without getting dismounted and it will be tamed. More tips here.

Only looking for a spawnable destructible ragdoll Dragon with no AI? Go check this mod 😉

CHARACTERISTICS

Dragon AI

– There is 3 types of Dragons:
— Wild Dragons: Will fly around peacefully, you can try to tame them by mounting them.
— Enemy Dragons: Will attack you on sight, they cannot be tamed.
— Tamed Dragons: Will obey your orders and can be mounted at will.
– Dragons will most of the time be flying around.
– Dragons will rarely look for a spot to land and rest (≈20min).
– Dragons likes to eat smaller animals, they may try to catch one from time to time (≈5min).
– Dragons will attack back if they are shot or damaged by explosions.
– If they have nothing else to do and an enemy is visible, Dragons will attack it.
– Dragons have a really solid armor, but once it’s broken they become destructible.

Wild Dragon

– When mounting a Wild Dragon:
— It will rush in random directions, you need to make it stop (by pressing the key in the opposite direction) 5 times in a row to tame it.
— It will roar each time it changes flight direction.
— If you hold one of these animals in your hand and the Dragon can see it, it will come to eat it.
— The more you feed the Dragon, the more time you will have to react to stop the Dragon (+1s per 4 food eaten).

Tamed Dragon

– Mouse over a Tamed Dragon to select it.
– Only the selected Tamed Dragon will accept orders.
– If you order a Tamed Dragons to fly to a location below itself, it will land instead.
– If you order a Tamed Dragons to land twice in a row, it will land faster.
– Tamed Dragons will roar if they cannot execute an order (eg: not enough space to land).
– When ordering to grab an item, the item will blink as long as the dragon is attempting to get it.
– When ordering a fieball, a circle will indicate the fireball blast radius as well as the hit location.
– Dragons have a colored outline when executing player orders.

Enemy Dragon

– Enemy Dragons will attack the player on sight, this takes priority over any other action they are doing.

When mod enabled

– Dragons of the type selected in the options will spawn.
– If one of them die, a new one will be created.
– After taming your first Dragon, you can spawn more Dragons of the desired type from the spawn menu even if the mod is not enabled.

Settings Tips

– Your Dragon flies too far away so you can’t admire it in its full glory? Try reducing its flight altitude in the options.
– Your Dragon keeps missing the object you ask it to grab? Try activating the option to pull the object being grabbed.
– It is hard for your Dragon to transport items because they break too easily? Simply enable the option to make grabbed items unbreakable.
– You don’t want your Dragon to keep attacking invincible robots over and over again? Try adding "unbreakable" to the "Ignored tags" list in the options.
– Feeling like your Dragon is a bit too agressive and you don’t want it to keep attacking any living thing that cross it’s path? Just empty the "Enemy tags" list in the options.
– You engaged in an epic battle agains a Dragon and you would like to know just how much armor it has left? Check the button to display Dragon armor in the options.

EASTER EGGS

Grabbing different part of the Dragon body may lead to interesting results…

– Dragons may break the item the grab (there is an option to make grabbed items unbreakable).
– Dragons body parts may get weird angles when moving too fast.
– Dragons body parts may become glitchy when grabbing a heavy object.
– Dragons may fail to catch their prey when hunting… That’s life :p
