Mechlair
Clairen from another timeline, where the plans to have her go back in time were thwarted by Loxodont, who captured her and turned her into a forever loyal cyborg.
As the name and visuals imply, her moveset takes a lot after Clairen’s; she is the Roy to Clairen’s Marth, and as such, her sweetspots work much like Roy’s, being on the base of the sword instead of at the tip. This and Down-B are her main mechanics!
Upon being hit by Mechlair’s sweetspots, foes get burnt. Burning opponents take extra damage and stun from future supercharged hits — the more… reverse-tipper? hits (I like to call them hilters!) you can land before they stop burning, the more bonuses you get!
- N-Air is a two-hit move, and it’s not hard to get both of its charged hits. Use this to your advantage!
- Though the burning effect may have a pretty short duration, its timer won’t tick if the opponent is teching, in hitstun or in tumble — keep the hits coming!
Her Down-B summons a multi-purpose energy ball.
Smacking it speeds up the attack that hit it and sends it flying away; it’ll hit opponents in its path, allowing you to start combos!
Press Down-B a second time to call it back to Mechlair! During its return, it has a strong hitbox, and it’ll give you a momentum boost once it reaches you! But careful — if the opponent’s hit the ball right before you attempt to call it, chances are it won’t work out for you!
Also worth noting that Neutral-B has two throws: upward and downward.
Side-B can be cancelled by pressing (or holding) parry during startup.
Up-B can be angled by holding up and a direction, and you can turn around at the start by pressing backward.
