Unpopular Utility Skills Power-Up
This mod aims at buffing several less popular skills of the vanilla game in order to make them more attractive.
The changes affect the following skills:
===AEROTHEURGE===
– Apportation is now sold by merchants.
– Favorable Wind now increases the affected characters’ range and dodge.
– Tornado now costs 1 action point, chills and deals damage to enemies, and removes burning, warm, and slowed from everyone.
===GEOMANCER===
– Mend Metal restores more armor.
– Reactive Armor now deals damage over an increased area, doesn’t deal damage to the caster, and has a lowered cooldown.
– Summon Living Wall only costs 1 action point and deals some poison damage on arrival.
===HUNTSMAN===
– Farsight now gives the affected character some wits and accuracy.
– First Aid heals more. I know it’s not unpopular, but it isn’t really used for its heal value, and I wanted to give a little buff to healing skills.
– Glitter Dust now reduces all of the target’s resistances.
===HYDROSOPHIST===
– Cryogenic Stasis costs 1 action point.
– Hail Strike deals more damage.
– Healing Ritual heals more.
– Soothing Cold restores more armor.
– Regeneration heals more.
– Steam Lance now costs 1 source point. The action point cost is unchanged. The initial heal now affects enemy undead and doesn’t affect allied undead (the steam cloud itself still affects allied undead).
===NECROMANCER===
– Shackles of Pain now reduces the target’s damage and movement speed.
– Black Shroud now deals some physical damage on its application area, to make it somewhat interesting to use for necromancers.
– Blood Sucker grants a constitution bonus to allied targets, and cures bleeding and crippled.
– Blood Rain costs 1 action point, to allow easier blood surface generation for non-elf necromancers.
– Decaying Touch cooldown reduced to 2 turns to compensate for the small amount of early game necromancer damaging skills.
– Mosquito Swarm cooldown reduced to 2 turns to compensate for the small amount of early game necromancer damaging skills. Yes I know that isn’t exactly an "unpopular" skill, but that isn’t really a big power up either.
– Silencing Stare silence now lasts 2 turns, and the skill now deals reduced physical damage instead of magic armor damage.
===POLYMORPH===
– Bull’s Horns now gives the caster a small amount of physical armor.
– Flay Skin deals more damage.
– Heart of Steel costs 1 action point, and allows to cast a Strength version of Impalement, with a 1-turn cooldown.
– Spider Legs now increases its caster’s speed, and allows to cast a Strength version of Poison Dart, with a 1-turn cooldown. Cast Web cooldown has been reduced to 1 turn.
– Spread Your Wings now allows to cast a Strength version of Pressure Spike, with a 1-turn cooldown.
===PYROKINETIC===
– Searing Daggers deals more damage.
===SCOUNDREL===
– Gag Order deals more damage.
===SUMMONER===
– Cannibalize now costs 0 action points (!) and grants Hasted for 2 turns (!!).
– Dimensional Bolt now costs 1 action point with increased damage per action point ratio.
– Door to Eternity now also applies to caster but only lasts for 2 turns.
– Ethereal Storm now deals increased damage.
===WARFARE===
– Deflective Barrier also grants magic armor.
– Enrage lasts 2 turns and has a longer range.
– Guardian Angel now grants its caster some physical armor, and costs 1 action point.
– Phoenix Dive now grants its caster some physical and magic armor.
– Taunt reduces the affected enemies’ damage, and lasts for 3 turns.
– Thick of the Fight costs 1 action point (the source point cost is unchanged).
===HYBRID===
– Breathing Bubble (and its mass version) now gives a magic armor buff. Breathing Bubble can be cast on other characters.
– Cleanse Wounds heal more.
– Corrosive Touch and Spray deal increased damage, and also damage magic armor.
– Cryotherapy (and its mass version) gives some bonus magic armor, constitution, and water resistance for 2 turns, and cures frozen, chilled, and wet. Cryotherapy can be cast on other characters.
– Erratic Wisp also boosts other elemental resistances as well as dodge.
– Flaming Skin now gives a small amount of physical and magic armor, increases Pyrokinetic, and grants a Strength version of Fireball with a 1-turn cooldown.
– Healing Tears grants an instant heal to the caster on cast, and don’t "heal" allied undead.
– Icy Skin now gives a small amount of physical and magic armor, increases Hydrosophist, and grants a Strength version of Winter Blast with a 1-turn cooldown.
– Jellyfish Skin now gives a small amount of physical and magic armor, increases Aerotheurge, and grants a Strength version of Dazing Bolt with a 1-turn cooldown.
– Oily Carapace (and its mass version) now removes the shocked, stunned and acid statuses, and gives a little bit of bonus armor, some earth / poison resistances, and constitution for 2 turns. Oily Carapace can be cast on other characters.
– Poisonous Skin now gives a small amount of physical and magic armor, increases Geomancer, and grants a Strength version of Contamination with a 1-turn cooldown.
– Sabotage (and its mass version) now deals fire damage to the affected targets.
– Smoke Cover makes the caster invisible for 1 turn.
– Vampiric Hunger (and its aura version) grants bonus water damage.
– Vaporize now gives the allied targets a small amount of magic armor.
===ORIGIN===
– Ifan’s Soul Wolf has some magic armor, increased physical armor, and the Cloak and Dagger skill.
– Lohse’s Maddening Song lasts 2 turns and deals a moderate amount of magic armor damage.
– The Red Prince’s Demonic Stare costs 1 action point (the source point cost is unchanged).
– Sebille’s Break the Shackles is now an area skill on a small area around the caster, and cures stunned, frozen, and knocked down.
===OTHER===
– All damage-dealing grenades of the base game deal increased damage, and scale off finesse. Doesn’t apply to any grenades added by mods.
– Cheese Bread grants 2 constitution instead of 1.
– Empty Canister can be crafted on an Anvil with the following recipe: Hammer + Metal Scraps + Empty Bottle.
– Empty Grenade can be crafted on an Anvil with the following recipe: Hammer + Metal Scraps + Empty Cup.
– Drunk status grants a Provoke-like skill.
– Dwarven Stew grants 2 constitution instead of 1 strength, to make it an easy to make constitution-giving food instead of a worse Dinner.
– Explosive Arrow deals damage on a wider area but creates no fire surface, to actually differentiate it from the Fire Arrow.
– Holy Hand Grenade heals more.
– Metal Scraps can be crafted on an Anvil with the following recipe: Hammer + Cooking Pot.
– Poison Cloud Grenade deals some initial poison damage, scaling off Finesse.
– Poison Flask deals some initial poison damage, scaling off Finesse.
– Razzle-Dazzle Grenade deals some air damage, scaling off Finesse.
– Terror Grenade deals some magic damage, scaling off Finesse.
The mod should be compatible with anything that doesn’t affect those skills directly.
