Description:

This mod unlocks the intended functionality of hacking system, which was considered by the devs at some point, but discarded for technical/game balance reasons.
It is a slight rebalance of the game overall progression for slower hull research and faster module and weapon research.

– You will have to hack a hull several times before you get the blueprint. The difficulty is determined by how many ships you have already unlocked (more experience), the internal cost value of the ship and a slightly random chance of skipping 1-2 hacks or having to hack 1-2 more times.
There is also a small chance for critical failure (current hack has no effect) or critical success (hacking complete).
– After every hack (successful or not) you will still get control of the ship.
– With every hack (successful or not) you will have a 90% chance to research up to 3 modules used by the hacked ship.
– With every hack (successful or not) you will have a 10% chance to research 1 turret used by the hacked ship.
– For unique hulls that you encounter only once (and any other hull), you will have the option to complete research by paying the money equivalent in research menu.

I recommend using this mod together with my "Stop Grey Goo Inflation" mod ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2680544538 ) to avoid money inflation in the world which breaks the intended difficulty to obtain big ships very early.
