Description:

For 7.X.X

"The Chaos Dwarfs, known in their own tongue as Uzkul-Dhrazh-Zharr or the Dawi-Zharr, are an industrious, dark-souled and merciless warrior race of Dwarf Daemonsmiths, slavers and brutal killers that dominate the dark and cheerless landscape of the Dark Lands to the east of the Old World. At the heart of the Dark Lands lies a region filled with innumerable blackened factories, of hellish forges and massive armouries, a dark, heartless and nightmarish industrial empire the likes of which surpasses all others in the Known World."
— excerpt from Chaos Dwarfs Warhammer Wiki [warhammerfantasy.fandom.com]

The Heralds of Hashut introduces a miniature recruitment overhaul to the Chaos Dwarfs, replacing the Chaos Dwarf infantry building chain, editing the Hobgoblin building chain, and adding two new building chains: one as a replacement and the other as an addition for the two new units (more about them below).

Why the change?
I find Chaos Dwarfs too easy; this is coming from a player who constantly complains about how the game is too difficult. I play VH/VH and I never recruit anything but Infernal Ironsworn for my mainline infantry by turn 30 – 40. With the addition of Dreadquakes and the exceptionally devastating artillery you are given, the entire game is a cakewalk; not to mention the Hellforge upgrades that turn your units into the best around.

Does this make the game harder or easier?
I like to think that I’m good at balancing things, so I’d definitely say this mod makes your campaigns more difficult however more rewarding, not to mention more flavorful. I only recommend installing this if you are familiar with the average Chaos Dwarf campaign.

Units-only version? (CURRENTLY OUTDATED!)
Rocket Division – Units Only

Zharruki

(Chaos Dwarf Flamethrower Infantry)
Lore Friendly

Comprised of religious Hashuti fanatics, sanctimonious zealots, and conscripted Priests of Hashut (sometimes even downright volunteers), the Zharruki flamethrower regiment is one to be feared. They march into battle with simple but solid cast iron metal war-masks and plate and scale armor wielding deadly hell-fire flamethrowers. Zharruki operators wholeheartedly believe in Hashut and manifest His unholy flame on any battlefield with perfect synchronicity and infernal zeal.

Zharruki are available at Tier 3 from the Magma Foundries building and have an additional requirement of the Cinerator building.

Bazuki

(Chaos Dwarf Rocket Infantry)
Lore Accurate[whfb.lexicanum.com]

If ever there was a hand-held weapon of mass destruction more devastating than flamethrowers and grenade launchers, it is the Chaos Dwarf Bazuka. Produced by masterclass Hellsmiths and Daemonsmiths, the tactfully engineered hand-held variant of the Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher is a downright terrifying weapon to be downrange of. To use such a device requires a great measure of bravery and skill or total insanity of which the operators of the Bazuka have plenty of in supply. Those who comprise these weapon teams are usually redeemed Infernal Guardsmen, retired Infernal Castellans, downright lunatic Chaos Dwarf engineers, or talented inventors pledging their service to Hashut and the Legions of Ash. They march into battle with heavy Blackshard plate and scale and tall skull-hats to signify their status on the battlefield; however one can recognize them easily with their menacing face-masks and intimidating smoke-belching rocket-packs.

Bazuki are available at Tier 5 from the Rocket Foundries building.

This mod overhauls how you recruit most of your infantry, including your slaves.

The Ore Level building chain has been destroyed, separating Infernal Guard recruitment and Chaos Dwarf/slave recruitment. Chaos Dwarfs are now recruited from the final Tier 3 building as your slaves’ overseers while your Hobgoblins can be recruited from the subsequent Tier 2 and Tier 2 buildings.

This better represents their status in the lore, as Infernal Guard are not a direct upgrade from Chaos Dwarf Warriors, but instead a separate organization that specializes in redemption or death; sometimes both…

Finally, Zharruki and Bazuki are recruitable from their own new buildings at Tier 3 and Tier 5, with Zharruki requiring the Cinerator building to also be built to be recruitable as they are quite formidable units.

Bazuki are designed to be extremely powerful but not ‘overpowered’, since they are extremely expensive in acquisition, recruitment, and upkeep. They also have low ammo count (5) that you can supplement/reinforce with your Infernal Castellans if you use them wisely. Bazuki are intended and designed to wipe out most units in the game in just a few volleys.

Infernal Barracks [Tier IV] cost 1100 armaments and 7 turns to build.
Infernal Garrison [Tier V] costs 2300 armaments and 9 turns to build.
Overseer’s Headquarters [Tier III] costs 5400 gold and 4 turns to build.
Magma Foundries [Tier III] costs 1700 armaments and 7 turns to build.
Rocket Foundries [Tier V] costs 3400 armaments and 9 turns to build. (you’ll see why…)
