The Best Active Counter To Missiles

Is an advanced CIWS, C-RAM or Pulse Beam Laser Defense turret.

Any missiles that fly in close will be shot down. It may also be able to shoot incoming ballistics.
Additionally this system yields range beyond the scope of your typical shield, and/or consumes no power at all to use.

Flare Dispensers also help distract missiles to better effect on light, faster-moving Techs.

The Downsides of Active Defenses

However the system will lose effectiveness the faster the Tech it is mounted on is moving.
At around 60 MPH, the system’s effective range is halved.
It works the best on stationary bases.

Too many missiles or projectiles can overwhelm this kind of defense easily.

Flare Dispensers aren’t a 100% surefire way to distract all of the missiles.
Some missiles may not be fooled or can end up hitting the Flare Dispenser.
