Fixed Splendid Lighting Modification
This is a version of Splendid Lighting Modification with config fixes that improve it’s compatibility with other mods.
Briefly explained, Splendid Lighting has an issue in it’s configs that cause it to modify the global map data shared by every map instead of only the maps themselves. This might cause compatibility issues with other mods which expect this global map data to be constant. In fancy terms, Splendid Lighting modifies the base classes that other mods inherit from. This mod fixes those issues.
* Q: Server-side? Client-side?
* A: Client-side. Server does not need this mod loaded.
* Q: Do I need to load Splendid Lighting?
* A: No. This is a complete re-upload, and has no dependencies. Do not run this at the same time as the original!
* Q: Does this mod bring Splendid Lighting to map x?
* A: No. This is merely a re-upload of the mod with a few fixes to improve compatibility.
* Q: When is this necessary to use?
* A: I would highly recommend running this version if you are using other weather-affecting mods, or a lot of mods in general.
* Q: Will this improve FPS, reduce game crashes, etc?
* A: No. The fixes in this mod simply improve compatibility.
* Q: Does this affect the AI?
* A: No. It just changes the look of the game.
This is a re-upload of the mod, and I will happily take this down if requested by the original author. I don’t think this will happen though, re-uploads are permitted by the author in the original mod page.
Edits and re-uploads are permitted, as long as pvttunt allows them. You don’t need to ask me for permission.
As a bonus, I have uploaded the unbinarized files from which this mod was made to GitHub. If you are a modder and want to add Splendid Lighting support to a map, consider contributing there and I’ll update this mod.
