Special Gene Traits

This mod is primarily intended for use with the Ruler Designer – Safe Genes Unlocked but can be used without it.

This adds traits that allow access to the special "genes" that aren’t actually intended to be genetic but that I’ve seen people use before (so the special genes that are intended for use by clothing / animations are not included, if you really want access to specific ones of those let me know (and why) and I’ll see about adding traits for them).

These traits are only available in the Ruler Designer and do not spawn randomly in the world.

Note that all of these traits are purely cosmetic, none of them have any in game mechanical effect on stats / health / attractiveness opinions / modifiers etc , just like the genes they activate.

The traits added are:
Easy Wearing – This activates the old_beauty_1 template for the aging gene. This is a Congenital Trait (and not part of any trait groups ) (the effect of this gene is that the appearance of aging is signficantly reduced once you pass 25 years of age)

Fey Touched – This activates the old_beauty_1 template for the aging gene. This is a Congenital Trait (and is marked as the Graceful Agers Level 1 trait) (the effect of this gene is that the appearance of aging is signficantly reduced once you pass 25 years of age)
Fey Blooded & Timeless Appearance – These traits are a way to access the No Aging gene without the issue of your babes/children/teens looking like adults from Birth.

Fey Blooded is a congenital trait (marked as the Graceful Agers level 2 trait) that doesn’t do anything by itself. However any character with this trait will have Timeless Appearance added by script when ruler designer is exited (for the character being edited) ,on game start (after lobby), or on their 25th birthday.

Timeless Appearance activates the no aging template for the aging gene and keeps the character appearing 25.

Glamour – This traits activates body_average template for the gene_bs_body_shape gene which the causes the character’s appearance to ignore portrait modifiers for their weight (whether high or low)

This mod should be widely compatible.

– Male Pattern Baldness will happen regardless of the Aging Traits. The implementation used by Paradox is weird, so going to have to think about it a bit more.

– Added Timeless Appearance being added on Ruler Designer exit ( which means the compatibility patch with Spouse Designer is no longer needed and is now deprecated )
– Should still be backwards compatible to 1.9.0 (as long as Spouse Designer is also the version for 1.11.0 )

2023-06-17 – Updated to fix some typoes in the debug menu option.
No changes required for compatibility with 1.9.2 though Spouse Designer and Ruler Designer – Nudity Toggle will need updating.
