Please do NOT use both the nexus / manual version + the steam workshop version at the same time!

Support

If you wish to support development of the mod, consider supporting one of our 3D modelers, Garrettich.
He works full time to create 3D assets, and is responsible for a lot of the work within the mod. Without support, he would need to return to his original career in the military:

Introduction

The mod is currently set in Calradia’s past – and is not meant to be historically accurate in it’s current form. We know imperial Rome and Carthage should not be fighting each other.

We will have historical versions (and multiple eras) in the future. It is very WIP, but we want the community to be able to enjoy the mod as we work on it.

Load order:

Other Mods (if you’re facing an issue, please remove these first)
3.2.0+: Europe Map
CA_EagleRising
3.2.0+: ER Europe Map Sub-mod

Compatibility:
  • Realistic Battle Mod – RBM Combat module will be required from v3.2.0 onwards. Make sure Troop overhaul / tournament is disabled.
  • Mods that add other factions / lords – incompatible, and likely to result in a crash.
  • BK – not compatible / replaces features
  • Some mods may work, but may interfere with various features. Mods that tweak party size will disable the benefit of our specialists if they are loaded below ER
  • A sub-mod for the Europe Campain Map will be released, this is very WIP. Proper load order while using this is RBM > Europe Map > ER > ER Europe Sub-mod

Known Issues:
  • Germanic armor currently hides the body, and you will get clipping / invisible body parts if used with assets from other cultures..
  • Balance – a never ending pain. We hope to come up with interesting ways to increase balance without eliminating fun..
  • Roman faction is quite over-powered due to how well the gladii works with RBM – Combat module. We don’t want to nerf the gladii, but we’ll be considering other ways to balance out the empire for future updates. Just consider them as "EZ" mode if you’re playing as them, and hard mode if you’re playing against them.

Features:

Supported Factions

  • Rome (Empire) – Listed as Calradians
  • Dacia (Dryatics, currently positioned in Vlandian territory, will be altered later) – Listed as Dryatians
  • Scythia / Sarmatia (Khuzait) – Listed as Saka
  • Celts (Battania) – Listed as Battanii
  • Carthage (Aserai) – Listed as Kanacians, includes iberian / numidian troops and mercenaries.
  • Germanics > Sturgia

Armory System:
From a town, go to the "Smithing guild", from here there will be two options:

  • Public Armory – This won’t include the best items, but still has a good range and is available to all
  • Faction Armory – Includes public armory items but also includes the best gear. Must be a mercenary or lord of the owning faction to use this option.

Specialist Mechanic, press Ctrl + M to use this (ctrl + , with an AZERTY keyboard):
You will default to either your starting culture (if not in a kingdom) or your kingdoms culture. You will unlock more specialist units as your clan tier increases.
This includes officers, standard bearers, bodyguards, and in the future other special units (such as elephants, engineers, etc).

New Bodyguard feature (recruited as part of the specialists):
As an example, Praetorians for Rome, and other specific bodyguard units from other factions. They will follow you in towns. Temp disabled due to a bug

Settlement Infrastructure:
These replace the daily projects and can drastically improve towns
This is an over simplified explanation of the infrastructure levels (will expand in more detail over time):

  • Urban Infrastructure – Increases overcrowding penalty cap, allowing you to sustain larger populations before negative effects kick in. Food storage limit is increased with each level
  • Rural Infrastructure – More food production > more prosperity > more taxes
  • Civil Infrastructure – Provides influence and loyalty
  • Military Infrastructure – More Militia / Garrisons
