Lyla of Avelorn – High Elf Legendary Lord
Lyla originates from Avelorn and while being a character in official lore, not much was said about her, beyond a certain passionate encounter with Tyrion. This mod changes this, providing a new legendary lord when playing as Alarielle’s Avelorn (or Korhil’s Chrace when using Mixu’s Unlocker). She’s available to be recruited on turn 1 from the lord recruitment window.
So who is Lyla, I hear you ask! Well a fully fleshed-out piece of mod-lore will be available in a discussion thread, while I’ll give you the TLDR right here. Lyla is an agile frontline fighter and infantry-blender, intended to be on par with Tyrion as a baseline and then as she advances in rank, she specializes in a certain part of the High Elf roster and also develops magical abilities. As a (in the mod) product of a union between a famous Chracian warrior and an Avelornian mage, Lyla will focus on the units specifically tied to both those kingdoms, namely the White Lions, War Lions, Sisters of Avelorn and Handmaidens. Do note though that not all her bonuses are unit-specific and can support others as well, which is the case of her red and blue skill lines, who remain the same akin to the standard princes and princesses lords.
In regards to her yellow line and unique abilities though, that’s where her heritage comes in. When fully outfitted, Lyla has access to 5 different "elemental spells" through her yellow line, to demonstrate her baseline magical affinity (explained further in the full lore). These are Tidecall, Regrowth, Fireball, Wind Blast and Hailstorm. Besides this, Lyla has 4 unique items and 2 unique skills. In addition to providing 1 more spell, Wyssan’s Wildform, these aim to boost mainly the Chracian and Avelornian portions of the High Elf roster, although some of them are more general army-wide boons. She has one kind of mount, a Griffon named Dromui.
These things unlock themselves in various stages at ranks 5, 10, 15 and 20, encouraging you to have Lyla as your main offensive army. I can tell you that already by herself, she is a great help in fighting against Tullaris’s Scourge and N’kari for the respective kingdoms. Enjoy!
