Features

Ever have a family member or vassal turn into a witch and railed at the fact your only option to do something about it is to imprison and execute them? Well, this mod attempts to address that.

Expanded options for dealing with witches in your realm, including:

  • If witchcraft is illegal in your Faith, you may turn over an imprisoned witch (also of your Faith) to your court chaplain to be put on trial. If the witch renounces witchcraft, and the court chaplain believes their renouncement to be honest, they will lose the Witch trait and you will be given the option to set them free. Otherwise, they’ll be executed… by the court chaplain, meaning it won’t be a kinslaying if they’re a relative.
  • You may confront a witch directly (summoning them to your court, if they’re a vassal) and attempt to dissuade them from the path of witchcraft. But beware! A particularly crafty witch may be able to turn the tables on you and obtain a hook or even sway you to witchcraft as well!
  • A new game rule allowing you to optionally reduce or all but eliminate witches and witch-related content in your game, if you consider the standard options to be ahistorical.

Mod Compatibiltiy

Most of the features of this mod are designed to be self-contained, with a few exceptions:

  • The vanilla Convert to Witchcraft character interaction/scheme is overriden.
  • The vanilla Imprison character interaction is overriden.
  • The vanilla GUI file for the list of courtiers (and prisoners) is overriden.
  • A number of vanilla event files involving witch creation are included and overriden (for the new game rule).

Whether these will conflict with a mod you’re using is impossible for me to say, short of looking at the files those mod uses directly, but if it affects any of the above then chances are pretty good that some kind of conflict will occur. The conflict isn’t likely to break much other than the game rule, however… at least insofar as this mod goes.
