Description:

Immersive Names (formerly Dynamic Province Names) is an immersion mod that changes names of provinces and countries depending on their culture and timeperiod, which means…

  • No more provinces in the Americas/Africa having European names before colonization
  • No bland and boring colonial nation names (ie. Portuguese Mexico..)
  • No more inaccurate or outright made-up names for some provinces

As of the latest update, this mod contains the following:

  • over 518,000 province names worldwide for roughly 120 cultures and nations
  • timeperiod-accurate nation names for every tag
  • (WIP) subject names based off the overlord’s culture
  • accurate and immersive government names

You can disable localised country names in the Decisions tab.

This mod is not achievement-compatible, as Paradox made it so modifying the province_names folder changes the checksum

Certain cultures may not have much map coverage; be it due to time constraints or general lack of information; in which case the names will default to those of its’ Culture Grouping (listed in the table below);
(ie. Rhenish > Germanic, but Kazakh > Turkish).

Actively making changes and updating this mod’s codebase is very time-consuming and in an ideal scenario would require a team of people to proofread and verify the information – while I try my best to do so as an one-man army, at the end of the day you guys are the lifelines of the project. As such, if you’d like to contribute to this mod by providing translations for some provinces, click here to see a guide!

If you guys appreciate my work on the mod, you can donate to my bitcoin address here 🙂
