Merchant Shops

Adds merchant shops to the map and 100+ new items. Be the first to find the merchant shops and buy the best items!

• 100+ new items that can spawn during base game play and while browsing a merchant shop.
• New society trait, Clever Peddlers, based around making more gold.
• Reputation system to gain favor with the merchants to earn discounts and exclusive access to your own pool of items.

• You need to start a new game for the merchant shops to be spawned.
• Defeat the marauder army blocking the merchant shop to gain access. Any unit can enter the shop.
• Every merchant shop has its own stock of items. The shops are refreshed with new items every 7 turns.
• The merchant shop items are shared across all players. If one player buys an item and another player visits the same shop, then that particular item is no longer available for purchase. This adds another point of contention on the map in multiplayer games!
• You can see what items were bought by other players. It could fun to see what was bought.
• Merchant shops only spawn above ground.
• Up to 10 merchant shops may be spawned depending on the map size and number of players.
• The merchant shops are generally spread out between player starting locations.

• Items from Tier I up to Tier IV may be offered. Higher tier items are offered as the game enters the later rounds.
• Mounts can be offered.

• You can still enter the shop and buy items even if the shop’s province has been annexed by another player. Maybe that’s fine since the merchants are supposed to be a neutral faction?

None of the base game files are modified.

My intention was to have more ways for players to acquire items, while also giving more purpose to exploring and re-visiting the same parts of the map. It was a fun experience creating this mod. Let me know what you think!
