BR Class 803
Hitachi Class 803 EMU based on the AT300 platform. Unlike other 80X trains, they are equipped with batteries rather than auxiliary/bi-mode diesel engines and only able to operate under overhead wires. The type comes in a standard-only configuration and without a restaurant/kitchen, catering is provided at-seat via a trolley. Class 803 trains are expected to enter service in autumn of 2021 and provide cheap services between London and Scotland for East Coast Trains.
225 kph top speed. 904 kW per motor car (1-5 per unit, 3 by default). Two units can be coupled. 376 PAX per 5-car unit (2*6 max for a total of 924 PAX).
