Additional Units Pack
Adds 5 new units available in custom battles and the Sengoku Jidai campaign.
Mori Wako Matchlocks
Recruit-able in a settlement with a military port and a siege workshop for the Mori clan.
Slightly superior ranged stats and superior melee capabilities when compared with Matchlock Ashigaru but lower unit size. Crucially they are available earlier in a normal campaign and without needing to convert your clan to Christianity.
Can deploy outside of deployment zones during the deployment phase.
Armoured Nodachi Monks
Recruit-able in a settlement with a Temple Complex and No-Dachi Dojo for all clans. Ikko-Ikki, Uesugi and Date get stronger versions. (Uesugi better stats and cheaper cost, Ikko-Ikki superior morale & melee stats and Date has superior charge bonus and melee attack)
Strong melee attack, armour and charge bonus. Lower unit size and more expensive than other monk warrior units.
Armoured Matchlock Samurai
Recruit-able in a settlement with a Gunsmith and an Armoury (upgrade from encampment).
Superior armour and marginally better stats across the board when compared to regular matchlock samurai, but much more expensive recruitment and upkeep cost.
Long Yari Samurai
Recruit-able in a settlement with a Yari Master Dojo and encampment building for all clans. Oda get a version with cheaper recruitment and upkeep costs.
Superior armour, morale and melee defence when compared with Long Yari Ashigaru but lower unit size and increased recruitment and upkeep costs. Stronger against cavalry when compared with regular Yari Samurai but no charge bonus or rapid advance and more expensive recruitment and upkeep costs.
Can form spear square.
Shimazu Hero Katana Cavalry
Recruit-able in a settlement with a Bajutsu Master Dojo and Sword Master Dojo for the Shimazu clan. Replaces Kiyomasa’s Katana Cavalry when playing as Shimazu.
Marginally better melee stats when compared with Kiyomasa’s Katana Cavalry.

I’ve tried to create these units in the spirit of the original game and without making them strictly better in every situation than the other units in the game. I’ve tried my best to balance them on a similar level to the rest of the unit roster but if you feel that I’ve missed the mark on any of them feel free to leave feedback on things you want to see changed.
I felt that Mori was lacking quite a bit, not even having the strongest naval unit in the game anymore while they are touted as the clan with the best navy. The Mori Wako Matchlocks hopefully give them an interesting niche in the early game where they can get a decent matchlock unit for relatively low investment and ultimately make them more fun to play when compared with some of the other more interesting clans in the game.
The Long Yari Samurai are for all the people who love 17th century pike & shot warfare style tactics with the spear square formation letting you essentially create pike squares. These do especially well when combined with bow and matchlock units and create a slightly different way to approach some field battles, especially when you are defending.
