Capacity Adjuster
Adjust vehicle capacity filtered by type (road/rail/water/air), by general cargo type (freight/passengers), and by vehicle start year.
You can also adjust loading times.
Adjust all vehicles, or individual classes of vehicle (e.g. road-freight).
The aim is to provide a means of balancing vehicle capacities to match your preferred play style. I created it because I feel that the early game road transport requires far too many vehicles, and because ships are never effective for freight as they can’t carry enough.
DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS: in readme.txt in the mod folder (steamappsworkshopcontent4468001104465202)
DEFAULTS:
Road Freight:
before 1900: x2
1900 to 1950: x1.5 (i.e. plus half again; a vanilla vehicle that could carry 4 can now carry 6)
1950 onwards: x1.2
Road Passengers:
ALL x1.6
Rail Freight:
Before 1900: x1.25
1900 to 1950: x1.5
1950 onwards: x2.1
Rail Passengers:
ALL: x1.7
Water Freight:
Before 1900: x1.2
1900 to 1950: x1.4
1950 to 1975: x1.6
1975 to 1990: x1.8
1990 onwards: x2
Water Passengers:
(this was the most important for me – it makes it possible to use ferries from 1850 profitably, because more ships with less passengers means a faster average travel time)
Before 1900: x0.75 (i.e. 25% less – a vanilla vehicle that could carry 50 can now carry only 38)
1900 to 1950: x1
1950 to 1975: x1.5
1975 to 1990: x2
1990 onwards: x2.2
Air (ALL) unmodified.
Tram
ALL: x1.8
Loading speeds are unmodified by default.
== significant refactor, 2019-01-05 ==
Since I’ve learned a lot more about Lua and (cough) scope since I first created this mod, I’ve done some major refactoring in the Capacity Adjuster. Configuring it works the same way as before. It’s very small so you won’t notice
a difference to load times, but it will be much less likely to conflict with other script mods! Yay.
I still strongly recommend you use FxUKs Auto Rebalance for Vehicle Mods
Please not: my mod does not adjust the cost of vehicles. That’s done by the game automatically, so you’ll notice that if you lower the capacity of a vehicle type, it will become less expensive.
