Description:

Incompatible with Character Creator and any playable character that doesn’t use Hat Kid as a base. It’ll still function, but it’ll be visually broken.

Is all that jumping around starting to get tiring? Do you frequently wonder what’s at the top of impossibly high ledges?

Or do you simply want to escape from the ground for a while and soar through the skies, without having to care about things like bottomless pits?

If your answer to any of those questions was yes, then perhaps you’d be interested in the Rocket Belt!

With two state-of-the-art jet boosters and an endless supply of fuel, you’ll never have to worry about not being able to cross a gap again!

It’s pretty quick too, so if you need to get from one place to another in a hurry, all you gotta do is fly.

Alright, now that the advertising bit is out of the way, I should probably actually describe the mod…

So, you may be wondering how exactly a jetpack would work in this game, and I plan to explain it all to you right now! So let’s get started…

First, and most importantly, is Flight Mode. Flight Mode is where you’ll be spending most of your time, as it’s the main way of flying.

Flight Mode is pretty easy to understand, holding forwards will make you fly forwards, and vice versa. You can also turn slightly while at full speed in order to change your trajectory.

If you’re not holding any direction, you’ll start ascending rapidly. You can tap the button in order to keep your altitude relatively still, but Hover Mode would probably be better for that. Speaking of…

Hover Mode can be toggled at any point while you’re in the air, and can act as a quick stop if you ever need it.

You can use this to turn at the same rate as ascending in Flight Mode, except you’ll be kept in place. Alternatively, you can use this as a way to look around to find a new destination.

It’s also pretty good for screenshots, mainly due to the fact that it keeps you completely still.

The last mode is Falling Mode. This is simply what happens when you leave Flight Mode or Hover Mode and you start dropping back down to the ground.

There’s not really much to this, honestly. Though, I’d strongly suggest using Flight or Hover Mode to slow down your descent once you start approaching the ground…

Also, quick note: I can’t guarantee that this’ll work properly for playables that don’t use Hat Kid’s skeleton and animations. The ability itself may still work, but it’ll be completely broken visually.

And of course, credits…

UnDrew – Working with me to program the different modes, and most importantly, the controls for Flight Mode. Genuinely could not have done this without him

Classytimes – The model for the jetpack, and the amazing render for the mod icon

Pckables – Hat Kid’s various flight animations

HERO – The jetpack’s inventory icon
