The AT4 (or AT-4) is a single-firing, individual anti-tank weapon produced by Saab Bofors Dynamics in Sweden, which replaced the M72 LAW rocket in the United States and NATO arsenals. Saab achieved considerable success with the AT4, making it one of the most popular anti-tank weapons in the world. The weapon was designed to give infantry units a way to destroy or neutralize armored vehicles and fortifications they might encounter, but is not very effective against modern main fighting vehicles. The weapon launcher and rocket are first assembled after manufacture and released as a single ammunition, rather than a weapon system, with the canister discarded after use.
