Dalet (Named for Joe Haldeman’s forever war) is a columnar world, with great white towers jutting from it’s cold and deep oceans. Dotted between the mountains of rock columns are the signs of modern life: towns, roads, ships, and outposts. Humans have built a way of life from these white columns, extracting what can be taken, and shipping it off world. The orbital processing facility, south of Gale point is Dalet’s beating heart – all cargo and people pass through the humble facility, where droneships and space vessels meet.
Towns have sprung up in the decades since first landing, Port Robat (Named after a deceased colonist) perhaps the most notable among them, with others being named for poisonous plants – including the Lily of the Valley, Snakeroot and Nightshade. These towns are dominated by white domes and temporary research habs. As is life on Dalet – where civilians are, the military is not far. Dalet hosts numerous military installations, most of which are far enough from civillian populaces to avoid prying eyes, allowing future soldiers to train on the praries, valleys and peaks in peace, however of note is the garrison at Snakeroot’s rest, where the famed troops of the 2nd Airmobile QRF are garrisoned, the training facility to the east of Port Robat, and the armoured core depot just north of Nightshade’s muse.
