Live Map (Whiteboard)
These in-game maps use the UI2Texture feature to create a map texture that updates every tenth of a second. Perfect for briefings or showing off your beautiful artwork!
This is a scripted composition, not a mod! To use this, place it in your scenario in the editor, or through Zeus place it down from the compositions tab. If the composition doesn’t work, see this video for troubleshooting.
Friendly groups can be shown on the map by using the actions to toggle them. Either player groups only or both AI and player groups.
Groups will be shown with an ORBAT icon for them. These icons are based on the group leader’s position and the vehicle of the leader. If the leader is in a driver/pilot, gunner, or commander slot the group will be set as a "crew" squad for that vehicle and their ORBAT will show appropriately. (i.e. If a group leader is the commander in a Marshall the group’s icon will be a mechanized infantry icon.)
There might be better ways to improve this system of determining the icon for the group. If anyone has better ideas, contribution would be appreciated.
Players can move the map’s viewed location by using the hold action on the map. However, the scaling and positioning aren’t 1:1, there may be a bit of adjustment needed.
When using this, remember that the markers that are seen on the map are those that are local and viewable by each player in their own map. Just because you can see it, doesn’t mean they can. Make sure you’re using the right channel for markers.
