Description:

Dismemberment Gore: Reconstructed is a mod focused on blood, dismemberment, organs and gibs effects to give more realism to NPC combats and wars, without losing performance and without adding new particle effects, since the game has a limited amount for load particle files.

Although there are other Gore mods, none of the ones I tried lived up to my expectations… some were too heavy, losing performance in NPC wars, others have some bugs, and others add too many resources and new particles to the game, causing the crash or typical error of red X "X" in some effects.

You must enable "Keep Corpses" for this addon to work properly.

DG:R Features

– All the particles used for blood are files that already exist in the HL2 games, that is, they are already included in the game. This avoids consuming more particle slots, allowing you to use them for other mods that include particles (particle slots are limited in Gmod).

– Compatible with antlion corpses of NPC Variants and other mods that include different skins

– Supports custom NPCs (if any don’t work, let me know in the comments)

– Compatible with Nextbots corpses

– Code optimized to the maximum to avoid memory overflows when multiple dismemberments occur (for example, with the explosion of a grenade), avoiding performance losses when there are many corpses to control.

– Auto regulation of effects when too many effects happen simultaneously, avoiding FPS drops.

– Full control over the gibs generated in the mod menu (max amount of gibs, kill time)

– Allows you to choose if the gibs should be removed before the player’s sight or not, for better quality of immersion (If you don’t move and look away, they can accumulate and affect performance, caution)

– Allows you to choose whether or not the gibs should interact with corpses, and react to external forces such as explosions or shots (only for powerful PCs) in addition to other settings that allow you to adjust collisions so as not to lose performance depending on your PC.

– Corpse resistances to damage types adjustable separately (bullet damage, physical damage and explosion damage)

– DG:R automatically reads the material type of a corpse. Depending on the material of the model, the correct blood type and effects are applied to the model. If a corpse does not perform the correct type of effects, it is because the designer of that model did not apply the correct type of surface material to that model.

– The gibs and organs that come out of the corpses have a complex selection system, and it will depend on the part of the body that is lacerated. If the model does not use the names used for the bones that are used in the HL2 models, the total mass of the lacerated part of the corpse will be calculated, and depending on this, larger or smaller gibs will come out, to match the part. of the body that was lacerated.

– For human corpses and the like, visors, intestines and pelvic bones will be generated if the pelvic area is dismembered. Lungs, liver and other organs for the chest area. Feet, hands, arms, legs and head also have their distinctive gibs.

– For antlions there are distinctive gibs depending on the dismembered part

– Configuration to dismember or not the ragdolls created by the players

MORE BLOOD DECALS

By default, the game only comes with six (6) blood decals to use. With this small file you can expand the limit to up to 10 different decals, to give more variety to your game. Additional decals are included in DG:R (includes 10 for red blood and 10 for yellow blood), but they cannot be used until you put these script files into your game. However it is not required for the mod to work.

In order to help you, you must comment all the details, all actions and steps you followed to be able to reproduce the error and also, if it is a lua error leave the error line. all this in the comments. If the information mentioned above is missing, you will be possibly ignored.

The development done here, is my property and you may NOT use all or part of my source code for another plugin (much less upload it to a workshop or other site web) without my explicit consent.

Any attempt to use this for another plugin will be considered property theft and I will initiate proceedings against that user’s Steam account.

When I no longer work on this plugin and no longer support it, it will be communicated in the description, and only then can you modify it yourself or use this plugin in another plugin. as long as i’m supporting this plugin, you can’t do it, be careful.

This mod is inspired by an old mod, from Gmod versions already discontinued. In this link you can get the original mod, which was a good attempt to make a gore mod, although it doesn’t work anymore and it didn’t end either, so it contains several lua errors

CMasta and I are the authors of this work. However, since the original mod on garrysmod.org is so old, I was unable to find more information about this author. please if anyone has more information, I would love to add it as it is due in this section to thank you for your original idea
