This mod will give you new options to resolve those personal grudges through war by adding
Free Captive and Revenge Casus Belli.
Select from a list of prisoner/concubines under a ruler’s control and declare a war to free them.
Valid targets include your family members, friends, lovers and family friends (added by SRE)
What if the jailor just executes these prisoners, you ask? You will have the chance to do the same to them given that you win the war.
In addition, the friends and family of those you rescued will feel obliged to like you more. Even if you fail, they will still applaud you for the effort.
If you use the Prisoners and Jailors mod by Gerousia, you can now take military action if your demand for prisoner transfer is declined.
Seeking vengeance against that bastard who executed your daughter he married with for some "little transgression"? Now is your chance!
Upon winning the war, the perpetrator will be imprisoned with their life at your mercy.
Similar to a rescue, the associates of those you have avenged will appreciate you for the justice delivered.
In vanilla, you will be redirected to your target’s liege when attempting to declare war as a foreign ruler.
With the "Declare Private War" interaction, you can now declare rescue/revenge war on those vassals.
That being said, their liege will still be forced to join the war like in vanilla.
Rescuing house members increases house unity like the Rescue House Members Casus Belli in vanilla.
The Rescue House Members Casus Belli can still serve as a much cheaper alternative to the one added by this mod.
Think twice before you decide to kill someone with powerful connections, as you are not the only one who is empowered by the new casus bellis.
The added custom AI logic could turn an exposed murder secret into a player’s downfall.
AI will also react to wars declared by the player. For example, releasing the targeted prisoners of a rescue war when the chance of winning becomes slim is usually a wise decision.
It adds over 60 opinion modifiers related to character relations and interactions to make AI characters feel more real.
By making the struggle between liege and regent depend on more than just a few buttons, you now have more options to take power away from your regent/liege.
*I made this feature a separate mod so that people who don’t want to use SRE can also use it. You can check out Dynamic Regency if you’re interested.
1. While this mod will likely work on existing saves, it is still recommended to start a new game since all testing are done with the mod loaded from the beginning.
2. This mod overrides interaction_declare_war.gui and can_marry_trigger in marriage_triggers.txt. Please report any potential compatibility issues you encountered. You’re also welcome to post your own patch.
3. If you use lots of mechanical mods (or even overhaul) and don’t want to deal with compatibility issues, you can use the Lite Version of this mod. Simply put the "Social Relations Expanded Lite" patch below this mod in your load order.
