Description:

Extract additional steel from rock chunks!

A simple mod that helps you with your steel supply without changing the whole gameplay.

Works with already existing save files!

———

+ You can now select "Smelt metal from debris" at the electric smelter to get
10x steel from 1x rock chunk (of any kind) (you need a crafting skill of at least 5 to do this).

———

So if you have no supply of steel anymore, not even slags, you will now be able to choose whether you need stone bricks or not. If not, go and melt them to make huge amounts of steel. If yes, you can cut them and still get some steel.

No more waiting for random events to bring you only a hand full of steel, finally you can be independent! 😀

In a normal scenario with a big map and mountains you won’t need this mod, but when you try new scenarios this mod will come in very handy, especially in the late game

———

The "Lite" Version will not longer be updated because the steel slag brings now 20 steel by default and debris has enough other uses to make it valuable and this mod not overpowered anymore.

———

If you need even more steel (or less) you can edit the mod files.
Just go to the folder where steam downloads the workshop mods for Rimworld.
Usually the harddrive where you installed RimWorld and search for my mod in the steam folder:
steamapps/workshop/content/294100/731997183

There you will find two folders, "About" and "Defs"
Go to Defs/RecipeDefs and open the .xml using a text editor.
Then search for
<Steel>10</Steel>
where you can change the amount of steel you get for melting normal rocks.
