Companions Expanded
Kenshi may be a wonderful sandbox, but I’ve always found the vanilla companions to be rather lacking. This is my attempt to add even more recruits to the game and some spice to your squads.
They each have unique personalities and backgrounds, and I’ve attempted to integrate them into the existing dialogues. They will banter not only with each other, but also with vanilla companions specifically or any other squadmate. Some will trigger unique dialogues through world states, or have small mini-quests to expand on their story.
Disclaimer: I’ve put many hours into Kenshi, but I do not know everything there is to know about the lore. Some of these characters may offend your headcannon, or even the official cannon, and for that I apologize. Still, I think the new companions are well grounded in the world.
So far, eight of the planned thirteen characters have been distributed throughout the world. The rest are past their idea and model stage, but I haven’t finished their dialogue packages.

Shrieker: World’s End – A "former" shrieking bandit. His speech impediments may annoy you.
Kuga The Gorger: Mongrel – A cannibal outcast who makes a new living taking the heads of fogmen.
The Young Prince: Clownsteady – An ascended fog prince. Eerie.
Bird of Passage: Catun – A rare southern hive ronin. He yearns for greater challenges.
Wilful Murder: The Bastion (Cannibal Hunter HQ) – A formidable cannibal hunter, burning for revenge. What drove him to this dangerous living?
Truthful: Tiny Settlement (Ruin in the Border Zone) – A woman who wholeheartedly believes in the teachings of Okran, with a twist. Still yearns to be a paladin.
Red Kent: Brink (Jail) – A killer through and through. His charming wit belies the heart of a cold-blooded murderer.
Scholar: Black Scratch – His even temperament sets him apart from his fellows.
Calm: Drin – The widowed wife of a minor UC noble. Their house fell to ruin when the wolves closed in, so she took to the road. She pretends not the miss him.

Tortoise: An elderly shek. They don’t usually live to grow so old.
Smudge: A cannibal skav who has clawed his way to the top, and it wasn’t through mere trickery.
Loi: The Profaned General. "I once believed that I was beloved by Okran, that he engulfed my soul in righteous flames so that we could smite our enemies. Now there’s just an afterimage, a burn on my retina, and the faintest trace of heat on the metal."
Whistle: The smallest skeleton you’ve ever seen! The smallest!

Wilful Murder sure seems to hate the Grand Wizard. Maybe you should take him along to hunt down the infamous cannibal leader.
Keep Red Kent and Truthful in the same squad.
