Adapted to the new database mod syntax, offering better compatibility. This mod should now be compatible without any future issues. While maintaining the original game’s numerical style, the mod now offers more options. You can still choose to reduce transport output to lower the number of employees and resources per level, or vice versa. Furthermore, you can use automated production to reduce railway output and slightly increase per capita output. The original game’s per capita output was already quite good (37 with diesel trains), the mod increases it to a maximum of 40 (45 with transport principles).
Original Description:
When I first saw that the maximum per capita output for railways in the 1.5 update was only 5.9 (without owned personnel), I was shocked. Paradox hadn’t tested their data changes at all, leading to a scarcity of transport capacity and severe losses for railways in the original game. This mod is a complete replacement for the railway system. It aims to give railways decent per capita output and transport capacity, along with more flexible production methods. Let your railways finally start making a profit!
What does this mod do?
It increases transport capacity output by adding more to existing production methods and introduces two entirely new production methods to railways: gauge and automation. Gauge determines whether your railway produces more transport capacity and infrastructure with more personnel, or vice versa. This mod increases the transport capacity and infrastructure of each railway tier, reduces personnel consumption, and significantly increases output per capita. It results in a final energy consumption of 40 for oil and 35 for electricity.
Some special features:
It adds a rare market access price impact to each locomotive production tier: 2.5% for steam locomotives, 5% for electric locomotives, and 10% for diesel locomotives. You no longer need to rely solely on certain rivers to achieve 100% access.
PS: All the new icons here are from scrapped game files, indicating that this was originally planned.
Compatibility:
With the new database syntax, it should be compatible with any railway modification mod.
