More Faiths V2
I wasn’t a fan of the fact that the base game kind of just swept most of the world religions under the umbrella of "Animism", so I expanded the number of religions.
Definitely not a comprehensive list of religions and probably inaccurate in a number of ways, but an attempt was made.
- Akom
- Alcheringa
- Anglican
- "Bantu Folk Religion" (a coverall for the various traditions of the Bantu people)
- Bön
- Bori
- Chinese Folk Religion
- Confucianism
- Eskaleut Shamanism
- "Indian Tribal Faith" (a coverall for the various non-Vedic polytheistic faiths of India)
- Inti
- Jainism
- Kepercayyan (a coverall for the various non-Hindu polytheistic faiths of Indonesia)
- "Khoisan Folk Religion (a coverall for the traditions of the Khoisan people)
- Kushitic
- Malagasy
- Mandé
- Mayan
- Mormon
- Nahuatl
- "Native North American" (a coverall for the various Native American traditions)
- "Native South American" (a coverall for the various non-Inti South American traditions)
- Orisa
- Polynesian
- "Rift Valley Folk Religion" (a coverall for the traditions of Eastern Africa which don’t fit well under another faith)
- Roog Sene
- Satsana Phi
- Siberian Shamanism
- Suomenusko
- Taiping (specifically the form of Christianity pushed by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom)
- Taoism
- Tengriism
- Vodun
- Waaqeffanna
- Zoroastrian
– Added specific faith-based Interest Groups to make each religion feel at least a little different with differing ideologies and opinions on various matters; as well as political parties to serve clusters of related faiths.
– Changed the starting populations to follow these new faiths and eliminate any trace of the old Animism faith, including adding the Parsi people to the state of Gujarat
– Added additional traits to the old and new faiths to allow faiths to be considered similar to each other without having the same heritage
– Added an additional law to the Church and State laws that allows faiths that are similar to the state religion to be tolerated even if they don’t come from the same religious tradition
– Added an additional law to the Citizenship laws that only approves of cultures which share a non-heritage cultural trait
– Changed the starting religion of several countries to some of the new faiths
– Added a new set of laws controlling the State Religion, making changing religions a political process instead of a button click.
– Split the State Atheism law in half, with a new law that sets the State Religion to Atheism and the base game law being the one that starts discriminating against religion in general. In other words, your nation can be entirely secular without oppressing the religious beliefs of the faithful.
