Large Enemy Prototype
Just a basic prototype of a new large NPC I’m trying to create (after the Basilisco), demonstration in army of basic.
Features laser, melee and grab attacks, as well as the ability to teleport. More attacks and attack types (gravity manipulation anyone?) to follow.
In its current iteration, it starts by going underground, then "scanning" an area in the level with vertical "light" beams. If you are inside the scanned area and make a noise next to you then you are "spotted" and the NPC will attack you by bursting out of the ground and flying into the sky, before using its aforementioned attacks from the air. It ends the attack run by crashing into its target and burrowing back underground to restart the AI cycle, or using certain moves that involve it teleporting.
It’s still a basic prototype at this point. I hope to refine this thing into an ambush predator, but I’m still trying to work out how I want to develop this thing from here.
