Description:
Welcome to Mavia – Queen of the Tanukhids!

Have you ever wondered why Queen Mavia plays such a minor role in every Tanukhid campaign? Why she acts as an unimportant side character who can only do certain actions in the family tree? And why she isn’t even the faction leader but rather lets her adopted son Tubbakarib govern her faction?

If you answered all three questions with "Yes!" then this mod is for you!

This mod makes the legendary Queen Mavia a fully playable character in the game who can lead armies, govern cities and engage in diplomacy. Now she can personally lead her armies into battle like her historical counterpart!
Like Belisarius and Charlemagne, she can only be wounded in battle but not killed. This is the same as in vanilla where she has the same trait even though she cannot fight battles herself.

The only major limitation of this mod is that Mavia will have a male voice ingame, because there are no voiceovers for female generals in the game.

Besides making Mavia a playable character, this mod changes very little else and is compatible with a variety of other mods that don’t change the "startpos.esf" file including Radious!

It also includes all fixes from the StartPos AddOn for the Unofficial Attila Community Patch.

Update 01 (Jul 06, 2019):

Compatibility:

This mod modifies the "startpos.esf" file and is incompatible with other mods that change the same file.

Verified compatible Mods:

This mod requires a new campaign to be started.

Limitations & Technical Details:

Because there are no voiceovers for female generals in Attila, Mavia will have a male voice! I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do about that unless CA opens up sound editing for modders like they did in Rome II.

This mod works by making Mavia a male character ingame but assigning a female unit model to her. Because the game treats her as a male character she is able to lead armies and govern cities. To prevent her from having illegitimate children like other male characters I decided to make her completely infertile ingame.
Since she is now technically male she can also use the "Seek Wife" political action which will let her marry another female character. It’s best to just not use it.

Her unit model was made out of assets from Rome II.
