Pohaku
From traveler to traveler, through adventurer groups, legends spread of a place deep below the earth, below even the Lava Tubes, where civilization thrives amidst an ocean of lava. Talks of treasure, ancient beasts, powerful relics, and of those that live in the magma sea. A town residing around a gigantic stone pillar, one of many that is believed to hold the earths above. And in this town, a quaint shrine dedicated to Kindness, Heart of Flame, resides.
It was a peaceful town, thriving off of trade and fishing. Though, one day, rumors started circulating, a mysterious warrior from the surface, that sought to slay a tyrant who’d lead an army to steal the power of Fire, who’d invade the depths to hunt down Kindness for her power.
Although many simply dismissed such rumors, Pohaku was worried, and despite the calm facade, she knew she had to prepare should the worst happen. Thus, she set out on a pilgrimage with Ai’a, her trusted companion, to the earths above, in search of the mysterious warrior, and should she not find them, then to become strong enough to protect her home.
Hitting Nspecial and Fspecial will cause you opponents to get chained for a short time, pulling them closer when in hitstun, use this to extend your combos and deal lots of damage!
Hitting a chained opponent with Uspecial, Utilt, or any of the Strongs will break the chain, causing an extra hit that can be confirmed into another hit!
Also, using Dspecial while an opponent is chained will cause a magma polyp to appear, chaining the opponent to it, instead. It can be pretty useful in making a vortex combo, keeping the opponent locked down in a part of the stage of your choosing!
