Introduction

"Ignorance is bliss."

The Resonant is a brand new class mod for Darkest Dungeon with custom artwork, sounds, and animations! An enlightened and enigmatic mystic with a worrying degree of apathy, her abilities walk the line between sanity and insanity, manipulating stress in a way no other can match. But set aside the dispassion, and something else haunts the Resonant’s mind—a truth so terrible, its very implication is an unending curse.

Mode Information

The Resonant is a mode based hero with two modes: Aspired and Attuned. The Resonant can switch freely between Aspired and Attuned with Ponder—a combat skill which replaces the move ability in combat. Neither mode has any special effects.

Combat Skills Available in Both Modes

Aspired Combat Skills

Attuned Combat Skills

Camping Skills

The Resonant has four unique camping skills, but does not come with any shared camping skills.

Custom Affliction

When the Resonant reaches 100 stress, she has a 60% chance of afflicting and becoming Dissociated. While Dissociated, the Resonant has only two act outs, with a 10% chance of acting out on any given turn. These act outs will debuff or otherwise harm the enemy team. This affliction has no passive stat changes, and is lost upon a heart attack, which heals 200 stress.

Custom Virtue

When the Resonant reaches 100 stress, she has a 40% chance of virtuing and becoming Clarified. While Clarified, the Resonant has only two act outs, with a 10% chance of acting out on any given turn. These act outs will heal or stress heal other heroes. This virtue has no passive stat changes, and is lost upon reaching 200 stress just like any other virtue.

Note that due to the way Darkest Dungeon interacts with custom virtues/afflictions, any effect which increases or decreases virtue chance will have no effect on the Resonant’s odds of becoming Clarified or Dissociated. The chances will always be fixed at 60/40.

Death’s Door Interactions

The Resonant has increased Deathblow resistance (73%), special Death’s Door buffs (as seen above), and will heal 5 stress upon entering Death’s Door. In addition, she is immune to normal mortality debuffs and her heart attack mortality ‘debuffs’ are actually buffs.

Critical Hit Buffs
  • While not Afflicted nor Virtued, the Resonant does not receive any buffs on landing a critical hit.
  • While Virtued, the Resonant disables her ability to crit for 1 rd and gains +1rd of Restoration duration on Enlightenment until she loses her Virtue.
  • While Afflicted, the Resonant gains +1rd of Restoration duration on Enlightenment until she loses her Affliction.

Additional Information
  • You may only have 1 Resonant in your party at any given time.
  • The Resonant is religious…but for different reasons.
  • The Resonant comes with a full set of regular, CC, and CoM trinkets, along with one universal trinket (isn’t a head).
  • The Resonant does not use any districts, and does not come with a town event.
  • Due to literally being a bird, the Resonant cannot party with the Scarecrow.
  • The Resonant has special dialogue with the Ringmaster and the Prefect.
  • Her canon name is Isa.
