Haunted Hollow
Having been deemed a critical road junction in the region, both the Shogunate Army and the Grand Imperial Army moved to secure a sleepy string of towns deep within the countryside. The woodlands were dense, screening the movement of each army better than anticipated. Scouting parties of both sides were conducting their normal routines when they entered the town of Haunted Hollow on the evening of October 31st, 1867, only to encounter the other. A skirmish gone wrong, the hostilities quickly escalated into a full-out battle by nightfall. The sound of cannon and gunfire roared. The chaos of night ensued.
A mysterious red haze began to lurk over the treetops. The smell of smoke was abundant. Fire, they all thought! But it was a realization made all too late.
The darkness of the night was replaced with the blinding light of a great inferno. The wounded, trapped and unable to be reached, were left to burn.
Screams pierce the midnight air over the crackling of the fire. The horrendous Battle of Haunted Hollow is upon you. Can you stand the heat? Or will it forever haunt you?
