– ENGINEER 2 –
or… engineer dx? Engi rebuilt? Whatever you like

The engineer from Team Fortress 2 is back in action, a workshop veteran returning with new sprites (thanks to Rusron), a new moveset, and more gun.

– Buildings –
Like in TF2, Engi’s gameplay revolves around his ability to place buildings at the cost of metal. Using taunt you can open the PDA to choose between the Teleporter, Dispenser, or Sentry.
You choose the building based on the direction that you input, and you can do this with the movement, tilt, or strong stick. You may also use the following commands:
Jab + special = sentry
Jab + jump = dispenser
Jab + parry = teleporter

Buildings can be upgraded and repaired using engineer’s wrench (nspecial). At the cost of 100 metal, he can upgrade buildings up to level 3 (except for the teleporter). Each building has 20, 30, and 40 max health for each upgrade level.

– Metal Management –
Like in TF2, Engi players need to manage their metal. As a change, ammo will only be in intervals of 25 to make it simpler for players.

Here are some of the main ways to gain metal:
1. Every time engi lands 3 hits on an enemy, that enemy will drop a small ammo pack. For most multi-hit attacks, only the final hit counts. Jab3 and the mini sentry rat-thing count for 2 hits on this counter.
2. Dispensers drop metal at a consistent rate, and will drop a higher rate of metal the higher level they are.
3. The Widowmaker (down-special when used in the air) costs 25 metal but returns a net gain of 25 metal on-hit.
4. When destroyed, all buildings drop scrap. The building’s cost increases the metal returned, but buildings always drop the same amount of metal regardless of metal.
5. On parry, a small ammo pack is dropped.
6. Death. You get all your metal back on death.
7. Telefrags drop a medium ammo pack. Yes you can telefrag people.

Outside of his main buildings, several of engi’s moves cost metal as well. This includes his Fstrong, Fspecial, Dspecials, and technically Nspecial.

There will be a guide video out in the near future going over everything with him, there will be a link when that is finished.

– Voicelines –
Pressing the blue button on the Character Select Screen, you can activate engineer’s voicelines. They’re quite fun and I recommend checking them out. There are secret voicelines for the pvz Crazy Dave and Peppino pizza tower alt if you press the button an extra time on their skins. Some characters have unique voicelines on-kill.
These characters include:
Jerma985
Sonic
The Noise
Soldier
