Salt Blooded Trait
It is said a lost mermaid came at night, bewitched a young fisherman, only to drown and devour the poor lad. It is also said that an unexpected baby was then born, unable to breath amongst the fishes and soon abandoned by the elusive chimera. Some say a local lord, old and desperate for an heir, found and raised a strange infant, pale of skin, emerald of hair and eyes, sole carrier of a salty blood.

This is my first mod, created for my own enjoyment and that I’ve decided to share.
The main idea was to have noticable family members, with unique physical attributes and bonuses, similar to the Albino trait.
Since I was inspired by House Manderly of ASOIAF, you can consider this as a tribute to its coat of arms, the one with the green haired merman.
Flashy colors aren’t my cup of tea, so I did my best to create shades that look as "natural" and low-fantasy as possible. I ended up with this dark green for the hair, slightly saturated for the eyes.
This trait is player only, others dynasties won’t be able to spawn newborn babies with the trait, unless they share a common ancestor with you.
Yes, the mod works with Godherja, I didn’t tested it with others custom maps, but it should be fine.
What the trait provides:
– Green hair/eyes + pale skin
– Small diseases resistance
– Dread: +5
– General opinion: -20
– Salt Blooded characters opinion: +20
– Attraction opinion: +10
– Naval speed: +10%
– Rivers/straits crossing advantage
– The trait is congenital
– 50% inheritance chance if one parent has the trait
– 95% inheritance chance if both parents has the trait
– The trait costs +10 customization points
More Hair and Eye Colors Remade is required for the mod to work properly.
Buck’s Portrait Shaders is recommended for nice hair aging effects.
